Herman to Texas and Kiffin to Houston

If Strong loses to OU this weekend, he will be fired from Texas. LSU can't compete with Texas money. Herman takes the Texas job and Kiffin takes the Houston job. Sarkisian is then promoted to OC at Bama.

Just because they aren't currently paying more doesn't mean they don't have the ability to money whip anyone they want.
I'm an LSU fan but I'm not crazy enough to think we'll be able to win a bidding contest against Texas for Herman.

jesus Steve Patterson was a complete and total buffoon.

so LSU left with their dick in their hand hiring Todd Graham?

The real factor for UT is that Ohio-born Herman was Graduate Assistant coach in Austin and has since coached at 4 other Texas schools so far.
Apparently, he likes the state of Texas.
It's not the comparable multi-million dollar contract he could garner at either UT or LSU.

Saban to Texas, Herman to LSU, Les Miles to Alabama.

That makes a lot of sense because we all know how enamored Alabama is with miles. They could never say enough great things about him when he coached LSU.

Wasn't Texas Ready to offer Saban close to $10 million a year?

Very feasible. However long way to go before all this shakes out.

you forgot Saban to LSU and Miles to Alabama.

I keep hearing this and it's simply not true. They have loads of cash just setting in the bank just from the SEC Network. LSU can pony up the $$$ for any coach in the country if they want to, including Saban.

"Texas was dead serious about trying to money-whip Saban," Finebaum and Wojciechowski write. "Depending on whom you talk to -- Bama big hitters or Texas big hitters -- the Longhorns were prepared to give Saban somewhere between a $12 and $15 million signing bonus and a salary package worth $100 million (plus performances)."

I don't think Texas fires a coach in the middle of his 3rd season. I find it hard to believe it would be at the end of the 3rd season if he has improved over last season.
If they lose 7 games this year, then it will likely happen, but if he loses 5 or less, then he stays.
Strong wasn't a popular hire for a lot of the money people so they might be putting the screws to the AD. But I don't think you can fire him in the middle of his 3rd season. You need to see what the record will be in the end.
I think it would be bad PR and not look good for them in the eyes of the next coach they try to hire.

Nicky promoting Sark the Drunk to OC is fine, he just better not give him one of those bama credit cards. Seems like most strip clubs in Alabma sell booze, too.

LSU will choose not to compete withTexas money, but in CFB money they can compete.
