The Jimbo thing seems too played up. If he really wanted the job it's now or never. At his age he won't get another chance. The next coach will likely be here close to 10 years.

Jimbo's 2014 contract stipulated he must pay any assistant coaches salary not retained by the new (Fla St) coach. That was $4.3M in 2014. Could this be holding up the deal

It could be the counteroffer Random referenced that LSU considered to not be outlandish.

Jimbo contacted LSU and not through Sexton speaking solely about property tax in Florida compared to Louisiana
This is the dumbest talking point of all. Taxes aren't going to affect this deal. Not even a little. The rest of your post is gay, too.

Huh? Jimbo is 51. Saban is 65. Jimbo may not get another chance because of passing on this opportunity now, but it won't be because of age. Bill Snider must be at least 97.

Not sure if Herman is LSU's guy but looks like Bovada took the Herman to UT line off the board.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Herman is not coming here; Jimbo is next HC. It's that simple.

Thanks for your input. Why are you so angry? What do you know that makes it concrete?

Really? So is Strong looking to be retained or is Herman just tired of playing the waiting game?

No clue really. I'm not a gambler but they previously had extraordinarily high odds of Herman to Texas. Much higher than what they had in 2013 for Strong to Texas (I think they had him as the leader the whole time).

I don't really know which way it favors.

Maybe so, but I doubt Narcisse is in the negotiating room

Two other threads saying Jim O said no tonight. What are your thoughts on that message?

I talked to him tonight. He says nothing has changed with Jimbo and seems pretty confident that Jimbo will be next HC.

Lowell is also headed to the Iron Bowl.
