Dummy. We’ve been listening to Stoops to (Florida, Notre Dame, Browns, Ohio State) and Riley to (Dallas, LSU, FSU, Florida) for 20 years. We all know you are gonna be disappointed.

Side note, if Riley leaves I am blaming all you jack wagons for making fun of his brisket. Men are very sensitive about their smoked meat!

I laughed hard, out loud, at this one.

The many, many Sooner fans that surround me are so uptight and tense at all times, that you couldn't pull a needle out of their a-hole with a hay truck..

Finally a tad bit of creativity in a post of yours - as opposed to "I'm laughing at you."

No, it's taken a while and slowly been building. There were signs early on that maybe we had some issues when he seemed to shut down the offense, and teams would sense this and slowly creep back into games. But we placed a lot of that blame on the defensive coordinator at the time (Mark Stoops). Ok fine, we went out and got one who, at his worst, is nonetheless a vast improvement. And we're still seeing the same thing. Hypertalented quarterbacks that can be schemed against by lesser talented teams. Offense shutdown after a two or three touchdown lead. A defense that has its moments, but becomes shockingly porous once that offensive aggressiveness is called off. That philosophy of "back off, we're done" has permeated throughout the entire team and surely helped lead to some of our playoff misery. The playoffs are basically one big "Let's finish this thing". So far, Lincoln Riley has shown us that that's just not how he thinks. Now, five years on from Stoops, it's fair to say that this team is firmly a reflection of what he can build. Look he's done a brilliant job. I don't want him to go... quite yet. But he has been very consistent over the last half decade. This squeaking past/shootouts with lesser talented teams might pass muster in the Big XII. We'll be eaten alive in the SEC if things carry on like this. His response at the end of the Baylor game about them continuing to score is nothing new to us Sooner fans at all. That's typical.

If you guys get him, I hope he develops that fire to crush other teams relentlessly and see things through right to the bitter even-if-humiliating-to-the-opponent end. You guys will not only be getting a great coach, you'll be getting national titles. Maybe OU just isn't the place for him to make that mental/philosophical conversion.

All that said, if he truly has allowed this distraction to cost our program critical football games, then not only is he a bad fit for OU, he's a terrible hire for LSU. I have a place in my heart for LSU, as I seriously considered attending waaaay back when I was making such big decisions. I'd like to think you guys can do better than that. Heck I'd like to think any P5 school can do better than that.

Then again, maybe that's our new reality for all of us - coaches negotiating contracts when they should be preparing their team to win its next game.

No you're not. You're probably some pimply-faced, over-weight 12-year-old who hides behind a computer screen pretending to be something he's not.

Our issue was a little different. Our coach was tagging blondes instead of taking the HC position at LSU in a serious manner.

2019--LSU vs OU --- Joe Burrow threw his helmet. That too, was caught and ran in for a touchdown.

Or, maybe he realizes that the last two LSU coaches were borderline idiots, and realizes he can pull better talent at LSU, or never compete for the SEC championship at OU..

He already has recruiting connections all over except the southeast bc it’s OU. He can keep those past inroads in place, plus have a lock down on Louisiana. Add on that LSU gets tons of players out of the Houston area, plus add in the Mississippi, Georgia, Florida players and it a no brainer.

Then he’s got The dbU thing going for him, plenty lbs, and add on the fact Louisiana has tons of d-line talent every year.

Like Saban did.. Lock down the state, and fill the rest as needed.

He could never get the talent to compete at OU that he could at LSU.

O-line is where LSU always struggles in.
