Years of having a lot of balls in the air finally took its toll.

When Petersen was hired at Washington, this is what he wanted:

All of those apply to LSU except maybe the glad-handing boosters part.

Don’t think he wants any part of the pressure the SEC brings. Even if he came, he would bolt after a few years.

But as I’ve heard, he’s not interested in coaching again.

Ugh. Meant upvote. I had saw the video where he said he wanted to get out of coaching and there was so much more to life. This guy is not coaching again and I don’t necessary he would be all in. The stage in the SEC far surpasses Boise or Seattle.
