pretty much..

Have we even seen him talking into his headset? And they show him on TV a LOT.

He's the best high-fiver on the sideline though.

motivation can be mistaken for development.. it has in this case as well

Why, exactly?

we moved the ball in this game...actually made it across the 50 yd line. It wasn't "our best team ever" that got shutout this year and this years bama team was better than their 2011 team.

bama had 2 weeks to prepare and were lucky to score in the 4th quarter. Does that mean saban and kiffin suck also?

Im not for wanting to keep O just for the sake of keeping him. I think the way we played against Arkansas reminded me of the arse whippings we used to put on people when Saban was coaching here. They had no prayer. I think you give kudos to Ed O for getting them playing like that at such a high level. If he has them playing the same way against Fla and TAMU and we somehow get to the Sugar Bowl, then he did a phenomenal job and deserves serious, serious consideration for the job.

Then you look at his ability to recruit and adapt. Im not saying the Ole Miss tenure should be completely ignored but should that prevent him from being a head coach ever again? There are some heavy hitters in the NFL who would have been considered retreads and failures based upon their previous wins and losses.

Further,Im trying to be realistic here. Looking at the college football landscape the past few years and it just looks like not as many coaches jump at "top 5 jobs". I mean USC, Texas and Florida all whiffed on their top candidates. You can make a solid living at somewhere other than LSU and not get beat on for only winning 77% of your games. Of course it makes sense for Herman, but not for many other coaches out there.

But what if you whiff on Fisher and Herman? Who could you bring in that you could guarantee to have us playing like we are right now. My opinion is if O surrounds himself with top flight recruiters and coordinators I cannot foresee this being an aberration. I think he can be very successful here.

Short term thinking.

O does not have the skills necessary to manage an elite program year round. Hes great when you need a spark, that's it.

This is the exact reason why no one else in the country has hired him as a head coach.. he is outstanding at what he is doing right now.. filling in and getting some energy going. hell if I were him id just do that every year.. "Hey! Im here to fill in for your fired head coach, I have 10-4 record as an interiem and a couple of bowl appearances.. only cost you 1.5 mill"

not sure how old you are but you know we went 30 years without beating bama at home...also saban was shutout out by bama 31-0. I guess Saban sucked and should have been fired?

O had the chance to FORCE Lsu to hire him. Had he beat Bama, the job was most likely his as long as the rest of the season went well.

So, knowing that Bama has shut down our offense for the last 5 games, we roll out the same gameplan as '14/15. He had 2 weeks to prepare for them, along with plenty of talent to score at least a few points. He layed an egg.

The biggest problem is, against Mizzou, SMiss, and OM, we ran several successful plays that were not in Les' playbook. Those plays were not used against Bama.

Instead, we played right into their hands knowing that we had an inferior Oline. We tried nothing to hide that diffeciency.

That showing disqualifies him completely in my mind, because it is a sign of things to come.

spot on..

Saban has won how many NCs? He gets the benefit of the doubt because hes already proven himself

Did we not know that going into the game? I did. Most did.

But instead of running plays that take pressure off of the oline, our gameplan depended on them being able to push Bama off the ball. That was NEVER going to work.

The only way we were ever going to win that game, was to get creative and take chances. We did neither.

The only reason we made it a game is because Aranda is a freaking rockstar.

My god you are the king of melodrama.

Let me ask you this. Knowing what we knew going into the Bama game, is THAT the offensive gameplan you would've chose?

Things we knew before Bama game...
1. Bama shuts down the run first and foremost, especially against pro-sets.
2. The only teams to beat/or score points against bama in the last 5 years are spread teams with running QBs.
3. Our Oline sucks
4. Our QB is not good and throws a horrible deep ball

Those things told us exactly what we needed to do...and O and Ensminger completely ignored it. And we lose.

according to that poster getting shut out at home is inexcusable! We lost 31-0 to the 10th ranked team in the country. Saban had not won a national title in 2002

If Saban and Kiffin can take two weeks and get their freshman QB into the end zone in Tiger Stadium, then their is no reason why Ed O and Steve E can't take their more experienced offense and do the same with their two weeks to prepare.

Like I said what we saw reeked of Miles and Cam Cameron and we were supposed to put that offense behind us.

says the little bitch that said getting shutout at home is inexcusable I proved you made a dumb comment and you continue to argue about it. Just admit I owned you and move on. Now I will answer all your questions b/c I aint scared...

so what are we to do change our whole offense in 2 weeks?

2. The only teams to beat/or score points against bama in the last 5 years are spread teams with running QBs.

mettenberger was a mobile QB? I guess you would have started Scott? how would the coaches have all of a sudden played a mobile QB?

quote:

3. Our Oline sucks

is it better to pass from the pocket or try to run when this is the case?

4. Our QB is not good and throws a horrible deep ball

not to mention he doesn't have time to throw deep...yet he did complete a deep ball right?

and O and Ensminger completely ignored it. And we lose.

how would you have attacked bama?

The two are not comparable, really. One has been OC for Alabama for almost 3 seasons and the other not even 6 weeks.

oh yeh that completely excuses getting beat down 31-0 by bama at home...just admit losing 10-0 to this years bama team is better than losing 31-0 in 2002
