I'd like to see the offense perform against the 1 good defense it's faced since he became head coach. He's faced terrible run defenses the whole time except Bama

You'll have to wait until next year when a TE's coach isn't running the offense.

that is all that is really needed. Have a great DC. CEO appears to be the type that will allow his Coordinators to run their systems. So all he has to do is recruit...which is what many wanted CLM to do

Hes the head coach. Hes responsible for the program. Hes the head man. Anything that isnt running correctly falls on him to correct it. So yes it falls on him when we come out and put 150 yards up against bama.

Cool, so he's still 4-1 and responsible for three all-time LSU offensive records and winning games by an average score of 29 points. Losing by 10 points to Bama and their ref buddies is not too bad.

I think the majority of the people on this board want to hire a guy that had only doubled LSU's offensive output against an SMU team that had won two games all year. Whatever excuse they use for that game can be used for LSU losing to the #1 team in the country. Except they had a real OC on their staff and LSU didn't.

Esminger was an OC in 1998

YOU GONNA HOLD 20 YEARS AGO AGINST HIM?

MAYBE HE HAS LEARNED

Then why not make him head recruiting coordinator? Why head coach?

Why didn't O/Ensminger run the same successful plays against Bama that they ran against SMU, Mizzou, and OM?

O signed off on a more conservative gameplan than we had been running the past 3 games. Let's not pretend that we were incapable of running anything different, since they had already proven that they could.

He chose that gameplan because he thought that was the best way to win, NOT because we had no other option.

Hes 4-1 against teams anybody in the country would be 4-1 against with our talent. I expect him to end up going 6-1 and if he doesn't its a disappointment. This was a team many people picked for the playoffs. The majority of the board seem to want Jimbo as option 1A with Herman as a close 1B.

He probably wants the HC title after being interim coach.

Everybody wants to refer to his failures at Ole miss...did he have shortened practices while coaching there? I doubt it b/c I believe he learned that while at USC...so he is capable of learning and implementing what he has learned.

maybe he saw the film and realized etling would get killed running anything but a conservative gameplan...did you see the play where the bama dlinemen pancaked our right guard? pretty embarassing

Oh, OK then.

That's great. Frankly, that's an attribute that any coach or coordinator should have if they want to be successful at any level. It still doesn't really tell me that he would be a successful head coach.

So, that's a good thing right?

I don't think a lot of people expected LSU to beat Alabama. Win the games you should and improve with a better OC and hopefully better QB'ing and LSU will be good to go.

CLM didn't have it

I am not saying he is my first choice but he has done nothing for me to say he shouldn't get serious consideration. I think he is a good fit. I think Jimbo would be. I am not sure about Herman. I also believe CLM has proven anyone can win here...yeh yeh yeh don't mention Curly b/c this job is comopletely different than it was in the late 80's early 90's

Or we could go get a guy proven to be a better HC that coaches QB excellently

But you and i know that plan was never going to work.

So we basically conceded before the game ever started, because we didnt want to get hurt.

He wasn't exactly unscathed with th plan

He was wrong.

We didn't do much to alleviate front 7 pressure. We lined up with big sets, and tried to beat them head to head. And got dick slapped.

Win out and win in the sugar bowl. How can you not give it to him?

To the fisher crowd that keeps denouncing him bringing in Kiffin because he is a "risk". You obviously missed the jamis winston handeling

We were tied in the 4th qtr and could have had a 3-0 lead. Bama won because their qb hit us for some big runs against a defense that was tiring.

its worked once in the last 7 meetings. I have been calling for a different gameplan for last 6 games but I am not going to judge CEO on his ability not to beat the best bama team Ive ever seen.

The best bama team you have ever seen has a Freshman QB?
