I mean, it’s prolly the only thing he could say to get reporters to drop it and only talk about OU at that point. So it’s possible he just played it like that.
Also possible he just decided no or played us. But I think he’d have done that earlier if he wasn’t interested

Did he though? Maybe Woodward got his answer from him a while ago and was intentionally letting it leak to cover up the guy he went after next. I just don't see Woodward getting played like that without having something else in place. It's just not his style.

If he was trying to force Oklahoma's hand, it was for better facilities to get on an equal footing with the better SEC teams. That's my opinion.
