I’ll add. I’m not here to argue gailey was a good coach- in fact the opposite. . the point I make is that a very valid comparison can be made between the two. If we can agree gailey sucked why is it so hard to say cpj sucks?

As per @ESPNRittenberg, Clemson OC Tony Elliott and Army coach Jeff Monken (who also runs the option) will be top targets as well
As mush as I would hate to see Tony Elliot leave, he would be a great hire. He is incredibly smart (He has an engineering degree from Clemson), very good recruiter

Georgia Tech is not impressed.

I'm seeing on social media that Ken Whisenhunt (former GT player) is the front runner.
no he's not. people saying that are only saying it because he played there. he will not be the new coach.

Clemson produces good engineers. They are a good school.

Back on topic, Whisenhunt has been a disaster in his last NFL head coaching gig, but those skills aren't exactly analogous. Malzahn, believably, could be a good fit for everyone involved, though I doubt GT wants to pay that kind of a salary. Seems that they have been somewhat content to deemphasize the athletic department in recent years. Another option-style coach would allow Tech to be successful-ish with limited resources.

We hired Todd Stansbury to do the opposite.

Gus Malzahn would be the perfect fit actually. Knows how to use a dual threat quarterback. Has recruiting connections established in the SEC.
Please.
Tech has two young guys at QB (Lucas Johnson and James Graham) that ran spread offenses in high school and can throw it. If they went with someone like a Gus, I think they could have a bit of success at the start. The small slot backs that people were making fun of on twitter for being skinny would transition to being slot receivers, we already have some big guys that can play out wide (and should get better with some practice actually running routes and catching the ball), and our B-Backs/Fullbacks are your typical running backs. The only thing lacking would be 2 point stance technique on the OLine and no tight ends/h-backs.

I always viewed it as CPJ having higher highs and lower lows.

He would be good. I like Seth Litrell a lot too.

This might be the biggest NCAA in justice in history
In 2009, Johnson led the Yellow Jackets to an 11–3 record, including the school's first win at Florida State in school history, and a victory over #4 Virginia Tech in Atlanta, which broke a 17-game home losing streak to top five opponents, and the program's first win over Virginia in Charlottesville since 1990.[14] After a defeat at the hands of Miami in the third week of the season, Georgia Tech won its next eight games, rising as high as #7 in the AP Poll, before losing to unranked rival Georgia in Atlanta to end the regular season. Georgia Tech finished a league-best 7–1 in ACC play and defeated Clemson in the ACC Championship Game for the school's first outright conference championship since 1990. This current title has been vacated by the NCAA for rules violations, which stemmed from what the NCAA described as an isolated instance of former standout wide receiver Demaryius Thomas allegedly receiving $312 in impermissible gifts, and grew to Morgan Burnett allegedly taking gifts and misleading NCAA investigators. Both players denied these allegations and Georgia Tech filed an appeal, which was denied

Monken should be their 1st choice
He’s killing it at Army

lol, they don't wanna run option anymore
And they will suck donkey balls if they try the unioffense that 98% of cfb runs a variation of.
GT could have been more successful under PJ, he was just a very poor recruiter

Amen.
Monken from Army or Ken N. from Navy should be top of their list.

As an option team, they're always going to struggle recruiting a few positions: WRs, QBs, and DL.
The last one is the most difficult to overcome.

The acc coastal is horrendous. GT has QBs that ran the spread offense very successfully in high school (james Graham 4 star recruit). They will transition into that type of offense for the time being. Biggest transition will be on the OL but if Parker Braun stays (all ACC OL) it will be much smoother.
The transition will not be nearly as bad as people are making it out to be, no one is asking the next head coach to win 10 games his first season

Sounds like GT is interested in Brohm. Heard 7/years $45 million.
