Really?

I think Mullen is solid,solid,solid.

i watched a special on inside MSU and he seems like a legit high energy leader.

MSU is on the way up, way up with way less talent than LSU..

LSU needs to play to it's potential

I think it might just be that he reminds me of a Nutt with morals lol

all that energy and getting his teams to play above there ability..

That might be what scares me.

LSU would probably hire some mid level coach from a BCS school that no one is really that excited about. I doubt we have to worry about it though, Miles will most likely be back.

Agreed, all this is for mute Miles will be back.
I'd imagine he confirms that tomorrow at his presser.

miss state has been playing out of thier minds this year. They were close to beating just about everyone who beat them (except us), and id we would have got them later in the year, they could of very well beat us.

Some people on that board felt that their AD was never a Miles fan.

It now depends on how much pride hes willing to swallow. He'll always be viewed as "2nd choice Les" after RR, and now Harbaugh

I Like Mullen a lot.. at MSU.

Thankfully, having me excited isn't a pre requisite for his hiring.

I'm just not SOLD yet on him. As long as we hunt all the "sexier" names first and MAKE people tell us no(We did not do this last time) I'd be pleased with Mullen, don't get me wrong!

i remember Carr saying Miles wasn't a "true Michigan Man" and he really lobbied for Miles to not get the job.

We survived Saban leaving and if Les leaves, we can survive. DiNardo, Saban and Les have helped construct a great program here at LSU if a good fit is found.

Im still worried we would go the cheap route and not hire the right person. We get a guy below Mullen, Petrino, Saban, and chizik and we could be hurting in the long run and get set back several years.

If you can't see what an opportunity the LSU coaching job is you are crazy. When we call, people will listen. As long as we contact the right people and are persistent enough I'm not concerned. Just my opinion.

An opportunity that our last two coaches left? If Les leaves it will be on his watch, just like Saban. That doesnt sit well with me. Plus there are plenty of programs that you have an opportunity to win at if you are a great coach.

Not many universities offer you the lands most fertile recruiting ground as THE only relevant D1 school in the state.

Tell you what, I'd say that's pretty unique. LSU underachieved way too long before Saban. We were a sleeping giant. Nick left for a once in a lifetime opportunity that he thought was best for him to secure his name is coaching history... He failed and publicly stated he regretted that decision. Miles would be leaving for his alma mater in which he lives and breathes. Coaches know we are the Flagship and they know of the kids that come from LA.

My guess is that LSU would hire some mid level BCS school coach for about a million and a half a year.

I seriously doubt that.

Butch Davis is likely a really good potential replacement.

Hopefully, if we find ourselves in a position of finding a replacement, the powers-that-be will be interested in folk who are younger than Butch Davis.

Look around, see who is getting hired. It isn't elite college coaches.

UF gave Muschamp 2.7mil correct?
We'd pay Pelini more than that as well.

I'd have to say we would get equal to better than Will or Pelini.

Muschamp has never coached a game in his life, as a HC

Is Pelini worth more? He has a job, if I am not mistaken. Nebraska looked pretty poor in their bowl game.

Where are these elite coaches going to come from?

Would be a gamble. Nothing suggest either of these will be better than Miles. Probably the only name that excites me is Patterson.

People in football think highly of him. He's just walking into a situation where the previous coach was very successful.

We can agree on that.

I just hope the right people realize you get what you pay for. TAF sure has. No reason to be skimpy.
