I'm still not OK with 4 losses a year.
Would 3 be okay with you? Cause that is what one of the other premier programs, Florida, averaged under Meyer since 2005.
And since 2005 under Les, guess how many losses a year LSU has averaged?
Yep, 3.

No it wasn't at you brah...
It's for the so called "fans" that don't consider us one of the premier schools in the country. We play in the SEC were we have been the most consistent team besides Florida with 2 BCS titles. We will be top 5 preseason next year with a great home schedule that is favorable to us. Add in we finally have a QB and we are odds on favorite to get to a BCS game, maybe title game. Also, Urban did it all with Tebow and the 2 years were Tebow was not there they lost 9 games under Meyer.

LSU under Saban averaged 3.3 losses a year. 'Bama under Saban has averaged 2.75 losses a year. Hard to say Les isn't in some pretty good company (or that Meyer and Saban aren't in some pretty good company with Les).

assuming....
Miles can finish his 1st season with less than 2 losses, 1st time ever as a HC.
or
there is another 2 loss team in the title, for the second time in the BCS.
Jefferson couldnt even throw throw for 125 in most of his games this year, and he still started;
I wouldnt count on Mett running out as the starter in the beg of the year...

The argument about wins, and titles and stuff doesn't really get down to the meat of the problem since Miles got here. I can only think of two games in his whole tenure where I felt we looked like a "great" football team. Virginia Tech '07 and Ohio State '07. If you want to count Bama '10 this year, then fine. The rest we have either lost or let teams that are way worse than us hang around so we can have a heart attack ending.
Edit: Auburn '09 was a good showing.

Context is important.

Anyone who wins a NC has to have some luck. In '06 JaMarcus fumbled on the 1 yrd line at Florida which to me was probably our best team. Saban lost to Florida but still won the title with 1 loss. Miles '07 run was nothing short of a miracle. My point is this up coming season has some promise to it and I will even say that if Miles leaves he will have left the program better than it was when he got here. I am not saying he is the best coach in the country or even the best we have ever had but his kids rallied around him when everyone was trying to run him out this season and he does not throw his kids under the bus when things go bad. The body of work and end results are undeniable. Hopefully one day before coach is dead and gone the LSU fans will come to understand the positive effect he has had on LSU. I think Michigan would be lucky to have coach Miles as their Head Coach because he is a quality individual and will bring stability to their program much like he did here.

I like the UM system. You can send a private message as well as post to a thread.
