Bad snap and the play was different from a draw. He had two options. Snap screwed it up.

Yeah, I've seen a few breakdowns of the play, the RB on the swing route was wide open and would have had an excellent, excellent chance to score. He almost certainly would have unless a defender made a spectacular play.

it was an rpo...it was designed to read the flowing lb...does he get tot eh RB swing route in time? if so, you follow the pulling guard along the left side leaving you 1 man to beat. that man is responsible for outside containment so its hard to come down and make the play on the inside right behind the pulling guard.
milroe panicked with the low snap like he did all day. it was a great call actually. gave him two options both of which would have scored unless the defender made an amazing play if milroe executes properly.
i mean the OC set the play up so that the QB had two options, both options would leave 1v1 with the defender out of position on both. WTF more can you ask for?
we see this all the time on this board. Guys who have no clue about football(pirate king) who are solely outcome focused calling everything a bad play call. that is not always the case and was not here.

no it wasnt, if milroe follows the pulling guard and rides his arse as the play was designed, he walks in. play was not going to the right so it didnt matter. play was designed to throw to the back or ride pulling guard along the left side.

That actually wasn't the call. I was listening to a discussion on the radio yesterday and the play was designed well and should have been an easy TD for Milroe but it was all based on precision and timing. What fricked it up was the bad snap and Milroe thought he might be able to make something happen going up the middle thinking the called play was not going to work due to the snap.
There was a pulling guard that had walled off the defender to one of the sides of the line and had the snap been good Milroe had the lane to score. I haven't gone to look at it to confirm, but that is what they saw.

Not a bad call. Milroe froze and didn’t realize he could’ve gone left. But Milroe is a dumb shite and had been the entire season.

This, all day long. It's damn easy to criticize after the fact, but as has been said repeatedly, it was actually a pretty good play-call, executed terribly.
LSU fans still have PTSD from Miles, who would have actually called for a QB dive play in that scenario.

That is what I fear.....getting fired or hired away by CBK to LSU. I hope we just stay put and make Sloan a household name. Bama had one of the worst offenses I've seen for them in many a year. Please, no Rees.

the LT, who had been awful the entire game, totally whiffed on touching any defender and just fell into the EZ (which is hard to do), so I am not sure the option would have worked without at least a check by the LT. I respect your insight though.
