As long as they can recruit not worried about them not being able to coach in the actual game.

I think porter is still planning on coaching the cap 1 bowl so I am not surprised.

It says they have "yet to be cleared" which means they are still waiting on approval. It doesn't mean they are ineligible no matter what. Things can change over the next couple weeks.

Les said in the advocate that porter, crowton, and stud are handling the offensive gameplan for the bowl game and Wilson and gonzales are out recruiting.

Ok...didn't Porter, Crowton and Stud develop the masterful gameplan for the GA Tech game? All hail the bowl preps.

Yes, but we've had 12 incidents since then that don't give me the warm and fuzzies.

Does the NCAA just sit around and think of useless shite to come up with as to why a player or coach can't be involved with something? Those bastards need a hobby.

you mean that awesome 324 yards of offense? the 17 of 27 for 163 passing? We effectively ran the ball in the first half and had a great defensive performance. We had 2 scoring drives less than 25 yards, and a third that started in GT territory
Then the offense shite the bed after halftime
sounds pretty much exactly like this season, only we forgot how to run the ball

its ridiculous that porter is remaining on the staff just to collect his bowl bonus. make some kind of a settlement or just pay him his bonus and get his arse out of here. no way he is completely focused on lsu football.

From Miles' presser:
Monday’s workout also saw a pair of new faces on the field for the Tigers as Frank Wilson and Billy Gonzales watched the workout. Wilson and Gonzales officially joined the Tiger staff last week. Miles said Wilson and Gonzales were observers on Monday and will continue to watch and learn until they are cleared to participate in practices.
“The new coaches were unable to coach or participate in meetings or practice today,” Miles said. “The two new ones watched practice from the perimeter. They could not participate in meetings and could not participate in tactical coaching. All they did today was meet players and watch practice.
“I’m certain that our administration is handling waivers and appeals so they can come to the field effectively. We do not know the relationship that coach (Larry) Porter will have or if we will be allowed to use him in bowl practice. That’s kind of what we’re waiting on, and that is the reason we are a little slow for the coaches to get here. I expect we will have that all ironed out quickly.”.”
Porter was recently hired as the head coach at Memphis, while Wilson came to LSU from Tennessee and Gonzales from Florida.
Other Quotes:
“You can only have nine [assistant coaches],” Miles said. “The interesting piece is that we can have nine coaching, and one in the perimeter.
“We would like to have coach Porter with the team through bowl season. Obviously, he is recruiting for Memphis and not LSU, so that is an issue.”
Monday afternoon, Gonzales and Wilson were on hand for practice, while Porter remained on the road recruiting for Memphis.

Expecting that Porter will not be able to coach since he has begun recruiting for Memphis.
