That article was edited the same day other people were reporting Johnson was going to be the hire. And they were all at least a week behind a poster on this site.

Every other article I can find referencing Jay Johnson on June 23 credits Gilbeau.

Exactly. What's the point of coming here and claiming to know something and then not saying. Especially when you have complete anonymity.

Yep, BallChamp00 has already stated he THINKS it's Riley (in a different thread).

He can do what he wants. Just passing it along. I looked at his post history and he started this thread a couple of days ago.

But the deal is in place and agreed upon. That much I know. LSU has its coach. Everything is a rumor until the announcement. Sit back relax. This will not be leaked. I know one thing as fact, Aranda was never contacted. So if you use that, we should have a great one.

I pretty sure Aranda owns a part of the Sooner program after beating y’all’s arse two years in a row. I will take Aranda for future arse kickings of OU in the Weat!

Amazing how all of these writers have an abundance of “sources”.

If Woodward doesn’t hire a coach whose expertise is on the offensive side of the ball then shame on him and this will be an utter failure

Go back and look at Glenn’s coverage of the baseball hire…

He’s either completely clueless or being used as a pawn to muddy the waters. With Glenn I think the safe assumption is he knows jack shite

To be fairr

GG said baseball was down to Johnson, Godwin, and the notre dame guy and it leaked as Johnson the next day and officially announced 2 days after GG's report

But a week before that report he had also said it was Bianco and that we were just waiting on an announcement from LSU

Everything about Woodward says he is a good at closing deals and being steps ahead. I really believe he had his guy signed around the time he let Orgeron go . It is nothing about Woodward that says I will fire the coach then look for a new one. Everything about Woodward says I have my new coach so now I can let the old coach go.

I could have sworn the first report of LSU hiring JJ was his...at least that I saw because I remember think the same thing as everyone else is right now he doesn't know shite

He kind of piggy-backed onto the idea of Johnson when it was announced by others that Woodward was looking at coaches who were still coaching in Omaha. Johnson was mentioned along with Corbin, O'Connor, Vitello, and even Lemonis. Glen was also, earlier, convinced it was going to be either Bianco or Godwin. IMO, you can't change your mind 27 times in a 2 week span and then take credit for being the first to break something as if you have a real source. He just used the process of elimination like any of us on a message board to narrow down potential guys for the job. As an aside, D1 baseball was actually the first source to report the hire was actually made.

The thing about Glenn is he probably does/did have actual baseball sources. He’s been writing the autobiography of Skip the last 2 years.

He doesn’t know shite about football

Was convinced at the time he was pulling information off of this board. From an evaluation perspective, he was pro Bianco for the Paul replacement and pro Fisher and Mullen when Miles was fired. He has an eye for greatness.

As none of us knows shite, this sounds as plausible as anything else I’ve heard from folks with sauces!

I also think Clever Woody Woodrow Woodward may just be smoking all over Gillbitch ensuring he stays on those 3 names, and then boooom, announce Riley.

I actually believe this is becoming more likely every day now.

As soon as the Riley to LSU talk seriously ramped up, national guys like Feldman and Finebaum said it wasn't going to happen. Then Stoops and O'Brien suddenly got floated back out there as options.

These "sources" all feel like intentional deflections so Woodward can lockdown Riley without further interference.

Tigerbait1977 update would in part refute your statements that we already have our coach and that Aranda was never even considered. He believes Riley is still on the fence and likely will stay at Okie. So you're convinced we have our coach, but it is probably not Riley, and you say no Aranda. So that leaves Campbell? If so, yuck!

I can't see "resetting the market" for any of those 3.
