This whole LSU has the best everything is bullshite.
People have diff tastes, all the big programs pump money in, even the not big name schools do now.

FSU straight up ripped the "The Process Starts Here" straight from a wall in Bama's facilities, as well as the NFL jerseys. Jimbo sees something he likes and "incorporates it" into his program I see.

He's a Saban guy

On an LSU board we are sure to get a lot of homer answers but I feel LSU is a better job than FSU.
being honest, I think they're right about the same.

Why would fisher want to make a, more or less, lateral move. Unless we can out bid Florida St. by an amount that makes an impact, I just don't see him coming to LSU. Would it take Saban type money? Would it take making him the highest paid coach in college football or dam close to it? most likely.
Assistant salaries!

This would make sense and the challenge of trying to beat saban every year.

Great question. I don't know, but I suspect that the facilities are so close in quality that it won't be a deal maker.
When Jimbo officially took over for FSU he immediately began working on the "infrastructure." He learned from the master - Saban - that winning games was more than just recruiting and coaching. And, he knows that it is more than just facilities, even though that is critical.
He got the budget to upgrade not only the facilities (weight room, meeting rooms, player lounges, etc.) but also the meals, the medical care, etc. The food service is customized for each player (depending on the need to gain wieght, lose weight, etc.) FSU has state of the art GPS technology the players wear during practice so the coches can quantify how hard a player has worked, when he needs an easier day of practice, etc. FSU has psychologists, not just counselors, on the athletic payroll.
I'm sure LSU has, if not the exact same stuff, the equivalent.
If you get Jimbo, here is one thing you will know. Jimbo knows exactly what he wants in terms of infrastructure and administrative support. He has a plan, and he will work to carry out that plan. (He loves to talk about the "process.")
If he feels any doubt that he can implement his program fully the way he envisions it, he won't come.
But, I don't think that will be a problem. If LSU wants him and if he wants LSU, then the details will be hammered out.
LSU won't get him because the infrastructure is better in Baton Rouge. But, they won't lose him because the infrastructure is better in Tallahassee.

IF Jimbo comes to LSU it's only for money difference for assistant coaches.

Just did a quick search.
Top seven payrolls for assistant coaches in the country are, in order,...
LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Clemson, FSU.
That was as of last December.
I don't know how far it is between LSU and FSU, or if that difference might be enough to be a deciding factor. It certainly could be.
But, I do know that Jimbo got significant increases for the assistants after last season. I don't know if the above rankings were before or after those increases.

Most people will ignore this and continue to post that FSU doesn't pay assistant

Your coordinators both made less than $600k in 2015. Both of ours are making well over $1 million this year(Cameron was #2 paid coordinator in the nation in 2015), so no, FSU doesn't pay assistants.

Kelly makes over 800k and sadly has a 5 year deal. If FSU didn't pay assistants they wouldn't be in the top 10 nationally in assistant pay

Defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Charles Kelly: $833,000

Co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Randy Sanders: $592,000

Co-offensive coordinator/receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey: $472,000

Cam Cameron, LSU: $1.2 million
quote:
Dave Aranda, LSU: $1.2 million
You were right, I was looking at Kelly's 2015 numbers, and he got the new deal early this year. Either way, this is a huge difference. And Cam made $1.5 the first three years of his deal, so LSU is willing to spend even more, while Jimbo had to beg and plead to get his assistants $9k raises.
ETA: LSU pays assistants $5.7 and FSU $4.9.
