quote:Not true. I guarantee they have been working their arse off to find anyway to prove Jimbo breached contract with any agreements at all to A&M.
it is entirely up to him if he coaches tomorrow or not. They can't do anything, unless they want to pay him a cool 40M.
Of course they can ask him to voluntarily hit the road.
I see this whole situation ending up similiar to the Chavis/LSU debacle

Who knows.
Well if you can’t, you owe him 40 million dollars, so that’s something to consider. And considering the only parties likely to know he verbally accepted an offer would be Jimbo, his agent and people in our AD I think it would be hard to prove

I still have no idea why you think verbally accepting an offer counts as a cause for firing under his contract.

I’m sorry, have you ever given a two week notice before?

Sure they can. They can politely tell Jimbo not to show up on Saturday.

Do you honestly believe Jimbo is allowed to accept another offer, and still be privy to his buyout if told to leave?

Yes, really. People accept other jobs all the damn time and still finish projects at current jobs. It's an everyday occurrence.

However, at least you realize if he did accept he isnt owed the buyout. Your two friends think Jimbo is allowed a standard two week notice

Of course. If he is fired without cause, he is rightfully entitled to his buy out. Unless his contract says that verbally accepting another job counts for cause, then it isn't cause - because no court would see it as cause. For good reason. It's silly to think the work world should in general operate that way.

This isnt a job at your local firm you dumbass.
This is a contract in competitive coaching. In no way can you accept another job, and still be privy to your buyout

I’m sure they are I just think it’s unlikely they’ll have anything concrete where they feel confident enough to pull the trigger. I haven’t seen his contract though
I don’t really understand why he wants to coach tomorrow but whatever, it really doesn’t matter from A&M’s standpoint

OK. You should let the FSU people know, then. They're making this way too hard. They should just fire him. Easy peezy.

Yes and I was escorted to the door. They still had to pay me like I was working but they didn’t have to keep me on the premises

The hard part is proving he accepted an offer

There has to be some language in the contract in which "actions detrimental to FSU" are a with cause offense to be fired
There definitely is. Pretty standard Ts & Cs. Therefore, you can hopefully understand that FSU is not being held hostage you dipshit.
holy shite this board sometimes...
