Freeman looking like next ND HC

According to ND boards and in line with Swarbrick’s press conference (and what most ND fans want), the plan is to promote Marcus Freeman. ND fans like the guy more than they even did Kelly lol (source: im a student at ND) and the ND players have talked about wanting freeman as well.

Lose your HC to another team while in the playoff hunt and then hire a guy that has never been a HC before...that is funny that ND would even contemplate making him the HC.

He is the MAIN reason they have the 4th ranked class though.

The players and message boards seem to love him. Seems like there's a battle brewing between people willing to turn over the keys to ND to someone with such limited experience, and people who...don't want to do that.
I'm torn on what I'd want, personally. It's tough to risk it on someone with 1 year of P5 coordinator experiance (2 years if you count his Co-dc year at Purdue).
Seems like a helluva recruiter though.

It seems like Freeman is to ND what Aranda was to LSU. Quieter guy, but very much a leader in a lot of ways. In some ways more than the head coach it seems. Guys are really loyal to him, he already knows how ND football works, he’s long been credited as the reason we have the #4 recruiting class right now (not Kelly), obviously knows football really well. It kinda makes sense imo

How old was Lincoln Riley when he was promoted to his first HC job, at a blue blood nonetheless? Ryan Day? It’s been done before and done successfully recently
