I never looked at Freeman as any more than a long shot.
A quick review of his background shows he’s a Midwest guy that is very close to Luke Fickell & has passed on a B10 DC job already.
Not even close to a slam dunk.

Brian Kelly reportedly made less than Bo Pelini. Are they going to give him more than they paid their Top guy in 2020? I am sure Kelly is about to get a fat raise though.

But between Boogereater and the boosters over there on the 40 acres... who knows. Sometimes they have a weird idea of what produces the best results; often it's a idea of "fit" over "best coach" with them. Often I wonder if they have visors like that dude on Star Trek and they see everybody way different than the rest of us do.
For all we know they might be determined to steal Mike Elko, just because. They can be as unpredictable as a bipolar crackhead who tried to ingest bath salts anally.

That amount that's public isn't all of it. Since notre dame is a private university they don't have to report the exact amount.

Never said they didn’t have a chance with him. Of course they do. While south LA isn’t the prestigious ND, it’s hardly a horrible place to be a Catholic for a year or 2.
