Would be a great spot for him. Solid, established program that wouldn't require a massive rebuilding. Strong draw for New Orleans, traditionally. Reminds me of the Sumlin to Houston move.

Started a thread asking why he hasn't left yet roughly half an hour ago. He's going to make USM a force in C-USA with his connects in Nola recruiting.

Fedora is leaving for UNC or A&M...

I know there is interest but from his post he sounded like it was a done deal.
UNC or A&M, not really much of a choice there.

Not to be an arse, but since they are the reigning conference champions, and probably the most consistent team in the conference the past 10 years, I would say they are already a force.
Wilson may very well take them to the next level, and will be a tough recruiting challenge for The Schools Up North.

That would be a good job for Frank, he would do well there and it would lead to a bigger job one day as well. Curtis Johnson and Frank would be going at it pretty hard I would imagine.
I bet Larry Porter is on speed dial with Miles as well.

works for me. would rather him go there than have to recruit against him at another sec school.

I'm from Hattiesburg, believe me I realize how far USM has come since Bower left, I just meant that if anyone could keep that up without a lull it would be Wilson.
Google tells me that USM hasn't even confirmed that Fedora is leaving yet, so this may be premature at best and complete BS at worst.

i hope not. porter over rated in my opinion.
if wilson leaves, you go get jabbar juluke as your r.b. coach and don't look back. keep n.o. on lock down.

I'd imagine that it's easier to get in Southern Miss than it is at Tulane. CJ gets Newman and Jesuit grads while Wilson gets ESJ and Curtis kids.

Tulane was apparently going to work on its admission standards for the next coach in order to make them more competitive.
But I've been told that while that was promised, nothing has been set in stone on that front and it's possible they won't be able to obtain the reduced standards.

Don't see it happening. I really like CJ as coach there, but the Tulane establishment is academics first...football last.

Frank was a class guy during his short tenure in Knoxville under Lane. Wish him the best.
