Associate head coach and running backs coach Frank Wilson is a potential candidates for the Tulane job if and when current coach Curtis Johnson is fired, according to FoxSports.com’s Bruce Feldman.

Idk why anyone would want to coach at that place. Coaches go there to die.

I love Frank and want him here, but that would be a huge risk on Tulane's part. I think he is better than Larry Porter, but you saw how being a great recruiter doesn't necessarily translate directly to being a head guy. The same thing happens with O Ole Miss.
There's no certainty that he would fail, but that certainly isn't an easy place to succeed. Lack of experience running a program certainly wouldn't help. Plus, if a new coach wants him retained, he would probably make more here as an OC. Tulame isn't known for big spending.

Bad move......didn't Tulane learn their lesson with taking a position coach last time? Bad move for frank as well.

For the most part, yes. Tommy Bowden launched a career there, only to die after leaving.

I think that would be a great place for Frank. He would not hurt us in recruiting and would be able to bring some more lime light to the state. If he goes it is better for him to stay in state as a head coach than go some where else as a Head Coach or position coach/recruiting coordinator

Good for LSU but not for Frank. It would be better for him if he could advance within LSU's ranks or go elsewhere...if his goal is to be a HC

He'd be much better off taking a job a ULL, ULM, or LA Tech than a school like Tulane. I know NO is his stomping ground, but it would be easier for him to win at one of the three other in-state FBS schools.

I don't doubt it, but if he wants to be a head coach sooner than later, he will have to take a cut of some kind.

This seems unlikely.
Tulane just went with the recruiter approach. It was a disaster.
Frank Wilson, for as great a guy as he is, isn't a tactical coach. He's Curtis Johnson without the exposure under Sean Payton.

He had a pretty established history as an OC before that, though. Frank hasn't run an offense outside of maybe high school.
