Campbell is a great coach. North TX guy would be intriguing as well. I just don't see Kiffin coming to LSU for less than 100 million guaranteed. Thats back to back crazy deals imo.

I mean I don’t care or have to worry about anything. Was simply answering the question.

There's definitely going to be melt on here regardless who is hired

The only ones that I don't want LSU to get are the ones they won't hire - the young up and comers like the USF coach. LSU is still in its star fricker phase and is infatuated with the big names.
I kinda want them to get Kiffin. That would be the train wreck we all want to see. Lane would top out at 10-2 with the annual inexplicable loss to a Kentucky or South Carolina and the expected flame out against a top team. The Rant would be in all its glory when the Train goes for it on 4th and 3 from his own 26 and runs a jet sweep reverse out of 4-wide shotgun and gets stuffed for a 5 yard loss.

You could have worded this a number of different ways but you purposely tried to word it in a way to insinuate Tenn as the better job/program lmfao. LSU isn't going to go after him. Hes not even in the top 10 in the search. Thats the reason he wouldn't come to LSU. If LSU wanted him that is one they'd get. However, were not going to do that.
I will never understand Tenn fans and their thought process. LMFAO

Matt Campbell or someone like him. An experienced coach that has won at difficult places and sustained a winning culture. Someone who is still hungry that has something to prove and who is relatively still young in the coaching game. He is 45 years old and is not a hot commodity that he once was. He has probably taken Iowa State as far as he can at this point and would be open to a change.
A flashy name hire doesn't concern me see Jimbo and Bayou Brian. More times than not a coach cashing in on one last payday before retiring or going to broadcasting.
Best post of the thread.

Lol idc. Because its gone be underwhelming. No one thinks higher of the lsu job, than lsu fans. In rrality its a dump. They will end up with some random coach that no one wanted and swear they found the next saban. They want saban, they want kiffin, they are getting neither. Its not that good of a job, a shitshow down there, and a mediocre team

Judging by this coaching search - you are the most delusional fanbase in the country. A huge chunk of your fan base, evidenced by many on this board, would be thrilled to hire Heupel. You were never going to pull a sitting head coach from Tennessee during a normal hiring cycle. Now that your AD is in dissaray & you're the biggest dumpster fire in college football from a State, University and Administrative perspective - those chances are even lower.
The entire sports world & country is laughing at how inept you look.

As they should, LSU leadership did not handle this transition period well at all and they deserve the ridicule they get. However, it will blow over. When it does, LSU is still a school that is willing to pay 10 mil a year for a coach and sits in a hotbed of talent where the core of your team should be coming from a 100 mile radius around the school. Add that to their willingness to spend in the portal and no matter how inept they are now, they are going to attract attention from a ton of coaches once thanksgiving hits.

LSU fans don’t want any coaches named on the tigerdropings forums. There hasn’t been 1 name mentioned that some fans have not destroyed. That includes NS and Lane.
Was your expectation to have 100% agreement on a coaching candidate? If we find someone that everyone else on a message board agrees on, I don’t want him.

This is very inaccurate. Also this board does not "represent" the fanbase but alright lmfao.

100% and rightfully so. The handling of the situation was terrible. And the Gov getting involved was terrible. I have said as much repeatedly. LSU is and was never going to go after your Coach. Delusion is thinking you are something you are not. Which is the definition of the Tenn fanbase lmfao.

This is just flat out false on so many levels
Before Kelly, our last three head coaches were able to win titles
When’s the last time a Tennessee head coach won anything?

I honestly don't care unless it's a guy who we're trying to hire.
Which isn't a slight at LSU, I just don't think there is anything out there that is really going to change things for us. LSU will still be pretty good regardless. And I think this era of CFB is going to curb the recent mini-dynasties anyway, so I'm not concerned about LSU becoming our UGA, especially since we don't play as often now.

It might not matter as much as it did 10 years ago, but being able to get in a car, drive around for 4 hours, and see half your recruiting class has to be easier than cheaper than having to go 2 states over to make visits

And our NIL boosters can get their grips on them in high school easier.
