I’m glad it’s a holiday week and all the things we’ll be doing will make the week feel quick.

There’s nothing to leak until he signs

He isn’t going to sign anything before the Egg Bowl

That's likely the only thing that Kiffin was willing to agree to.

Why would he be willing to box himself into a specific timeline if he hasn’t actually decided? It’s possible, even likely, OM doesn’t know what Kiffin’s decision is, but it’s unlikely Kiffin would agree to the timing if he didn’t know.

Many possible answers to that.

Maybe he thinks that's all the time he needs.

Maybe he just wanted to push the pressure past the regular season.

Maybe it's just a negotiating tactic to get all parties to the table at the same time one more time to drive up the price.

It's also possible that Kiffin knows but nobody else does.

We know multiple parties are confident. We haven't seen LSU or Florida let it be known that they are moving on.

To me, the logical options are:

* Nobody knows for sure and that's why nothing has been leaked.
* One of the 3 parties knows for sure, but has it completely locked down at the request of Kiffin.
* Because Kiffin wants it silent, he hasn't given a definitive no to either of the 2 losers.
* Because Kiffin hasn't given a definitive no, both losing parties are still waiting patiently for Kiffin's timeline.

Both are plausible. The problem I have with the 2nd scenario is that Kiffin would have to be actively leading on the other parties for them not to only feel like they are in it...but confident about the outcome.

I just don't don't think this is decided.

This is what concerns me. Every time I mention Florida, I get downvoted, but they are so extremely confident.

I know that is dumb confidence, but they say the same thing about us. I know it is Sexton playing them or playing us, but how are we so sure that he isn't playing us?

If the powers over Florida knew that Kiffin was coming to LSU, they would probably be louder about interviewing candidates instead of backtracking as they did with Sumrall.

UF is out

And the backtrack was from Sumrall not UF. He knew what they were doing and it backfired

How do you know this other than us LSU fans repeating it? I want to be as confident as you. What reason do you have to believe that?

I would imagine that if it is “done” then a handful of people have that information and all were required to sign an NDA.

So you think everyone involved in that process and their families have NDA's signed, and they wouldn't anonymously tip someone off?

I’ve never heard of this so called NDA before this moment right now.

Can I make my wife sign one?

Basing this off most UF pundits saying it - we’ll know by Saturday

Why would LSU want this secret? What’s the WIIFM for LSU?

Just use a little bit of common sense. Nothing has been leaked because Sexton told all suitors not to leak anything.

You almost never have a coaching search without tidbits from official sources. This search has 3 suitors involved and no one is saying anything because they were explicitly told not to.

There's not a single person on this site that is legitimately sure that LSU will get Kiffin. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. But, it's confidence.

...and vice versa. If LSU knew he wasn't coming, you'd see them moving on as well.

Nobody really knows, IMO. All parties are willing to wait.

Sexton wants the smoke, more competition is more money. He’s not keeping this quiet.

Sexton wants certain smoke, which he’s controlling.

Ole Miss is saying something will be leaked Wednesday or Thursday and they will have a formal announcement Saturday.

Regardless of whether he has decided or not, he has given at least one school misplaced confidence in where they stand. I don’t think that’s a tell as to whether or not he’s made his decision. While none of the schools have come out publicly declaring they are moving on, there is evidence that OM and Florida are exploring other options, but not with LSU. The pessimists view that as stupidity on LSU’s part, and maybe it is, but if there is a tell in any of this, that is it.

- If Kiffin knows his decision, it isn’t OM or he would have already announced that to end the distractions and avoid burning bridges.
- If he doesn’t know the decision, I just don’t see the purpose in setting a specific date to announce a decision. There’s no reason to cut off the possibility of announcing he has decided to stay before the Egg Bowl. Maybe he hasn’t decided between Florida and LSU, but I think it still tells us OM isn’t a possibility. If it’s not OM, I don’t see the need to set a decision date unless he already knows the decision.
