You realize this is on the entire defense and dc not the cornerbacks coach. He didn't coach safeties those 3 years.

The safeties have been bad the last 2 years.

The answer is simple. Recruiting in Louisiana

If the only reason to retain the guy is recruiting then that’s a poor reason IMO. If he can’t coach then it doesn’t even matter how well he can recruit

Aranda brought in help for the guy.

Why am I supposed to melt over a dbs coach who couldn’t coach safeties?

Funny that the safety play got worse once those guys were brought in.

So now he just straight up can’t coach?

Would you have said that 2 hours ago?

The frick do I care about that? The LSU secondary has been in the top 25% of NCAA pass defenses.

Solid. Pretty good.

Ok so Raymond is to blame for injuries and quitting?

I thought that was because, well, Orgeron.

You wouldn’t be saying any of this 2 hours ago.

Ive posted for a year that Raymond shouldn’t be protected. Clean house if the new coach sees fit.

This isn’t going to stop the clowns that are melting, best part is tomorrow we probably announce a big dc name and they once again look stupid for their melt for third time in like two weeks

All I know at this point is our secondary was horrific last year and most of this year. Remember the absolute slaughter we witnessed against Miss State last year. Remember the missed assignments, lack of tackling, lack of fundamentals. The defensive backfield as totally unprepared last year and this year. Great improvement in the back half of they year, this year, but jeez we have been terrible. I hate to see him go but it sounds like it is what he wants. Cannot believe he was not fired after last year.

Those numbers are pretty strong & consistent, D.

But they will be fine I think.

Recruit the boot

Numbers are fine. But the guy didn’t invent DB play.

Good lord man get ahold of yourself.

Every single person at LSU is replaceable. This isn’t about one coach or player. We will replace Raymond with some just as good. We replaced Cooper with Raymond.

LSU existed and won multiple titles before Corey Raymond and we will exist and win titles without him.

If Raymond left on his own, he is dumb for picking a sunbelt coach and staff to tie his anchor to over the winningest coach in ND history.

This isn’t directed at anyone in particular ITT, but losing Raymond is big. That said, nobody is irreplaceable. I know it’s not 1:1, but getting Frank is much bigger than losing Raymond.

We’ll be alright!

ETA: All along I’ve maintained that I wouldn’t be too upset if BK cleaned house. Raymond is great but sometimes we just need some new blood. I’m okay with keeping Davis. He hasn’t been here long enough to be part of that old, stale culture.

You are an absolute moron if you believe this. We have more DBs in the NFL than any school in the country.

No one said he wasn’t an elite DB recruiter

We will be fine, it’s one thing to recruit for LSU in state, whole different thing to do it from out of state especially for a team that has been our whipping boy for as long as most of these recruits have been alive much less can remember.

Most of these recruits were born 03-04 so they have seen us dish more whippings to Florida than we have taken.

Raymond might get a guy or two this year but he is going to find things icy soon

Cool, man.

I guess a coach (BK) that has yet to even coach a game at LSU gets the benefit of the doubt here, even after losing our best DB recruiter to our permanent cross divisional rival.

This board will be the first to crucify him for losing Raymond the first time we get torched. Which will happen, because it’s football.

Playing pass defense is only part of DB's job.....supporting the run is the other...we haven't had an aggressive DB since Jamal Adams...with the poss exception of J. Stevens....we need guys who can play both aspects and not hug or bounce off ball carriers.....and Corey has not developed those players...look at our running def #'s as well, perimeter runs need to be stopped by DB's too!! Best of luck to him...seems like a great guy who has hit is ceiling.....hasn't improved..
