Ensminger had one good season, and in that season he didn't install the offense, didn't call plays on 3rd down or inside the 10. He also didn't and doesn't want to be OC. There are many many far better minds available than Ensminger.

why in the world would you want him to be CO-OC FWIW, E never left he is on staff as a analyst. If he were to come back I want him as full time OC.

Ensminger is the best OC in LSU history.

With the same players all a year older, our offense became worse when he retired.

With the same players & a year younger, burrow threw for 16tds & was a 56% passer

Move on from 2019. I don’t watch the NFL, but the snippets I hear is that the 2019 LSU skilled players are killing it there. We are going to be different but maybe not ever as good as that team. Reasonable expectations are to be much more consistent. We will have an OC who can call an attacking game and adjust based on what the defense will give us. If we get that, I don’t care who they are or where they’ve been.

Dude's probably bringing home well north of $200K a year from retirement. Why would he come back and coach?

Absolutely the dumbest post I have seen to date and that is quite an accomplishment. Ensminger was a zero in the 2019 offense. The coaches, the Broyles award selection committee, and many other programs were smart enough to see that Brady was the brain of the operation. No one was looking to poach Ensminger. He failed at North Carolina, Texas A&M, and managed to make Burrow/ Jefferson/ Chase/ CEH look extremely average in 2018. Let's hire professionals that aren't in the "retread/ sound like us" category. Serious coaches will result in serious and stable results. Trust the professionals for making these decisions, although I'm sure Administration will value this opinion.

He had the best and 5th best passing seasons in LSU history as an OC. I think that is more than one.

His offense also put up exactly ZERO points in 8 quarters vs Alabama.

Perhaps the most underrated factor that led to the 2019 season was Ensminger convincing Orgeron he WAS NOT the guy who should be fully responsible for the offense. Otherwise, Orgeron would have happily plodded along with a staff full of guys who wouldn’t challenge his expansive football mind.

Interesting. So you’re telling me that a first time starting QB who had six weeks to acclimate at a new program, throwing to a bunch of underclassmen, didn’t perform at an elite level? But still managed to scratch our ten wins?
