watching his interview on YT right now..
impressive dude

If A&M doesn’t give him the shot, I think Arkansas or State should at least consider it. Guy can recruit like no other, and if he has the resources to hire a staff of his dudes..
watch out

He should be a head coach soon.

He’s an excellent assistant and we’ve been lucky to be able to hold on to him as long as we have

He will have a chance if he does a good job as interim, and I think it is a better chance than some think.

We or any program that hired him as the head coach would recruit like crazy with ERob. He’s easily a top 5-10 recruiter in the country

I wonder if he'll pull another midnight resignation before the regular season ends. Can't imagine Durkin is a fan of this move either.

Dude can recruit. Can he run a program? There was another DL coach with recruiting chops that made it a short while in the SEC…

Dabo did very well with this model. Not many others have though

Because we don’t give a shite if Petrino (or Durkin) sticks around after the season is over, and neither guy recruited much of the talent on the roster roster.

Because he sucks? They hired him to fix the offense and he didnt. End of story.

Elijah is far and away the player favorite in the locker room. This was a nod to them.

When you say, "if he does a good job as an interim," I assume that you are talking about retaining players on the roster, because the timing just doesn't work to use the last 2 games as an audition. They are going to want to identify a target before the LSU, so the only way ER's performance against LSU matters if is they get played by the first choice and have to go to Plan B.

You have no idea how well ERob is liked inside the program. If he shows the HC skills the next couple of weeks, it is entirely possible that he will get a shot at the job.

Bjork was incredibly impressed with him. Also, if you listened to the press conference he came across very well spoken with less than 36 hours on the job as interim coach.

Now, if you can get Lanning, or one of the other top tier candidates then you do so. If you cannot, ERob is better for A&M than many of the second tier candidates I've seen thrown about. He loves this school

I could be a hell of a recruiter with an open checkbook.

I think there is more to it than just money..
if it were just money, A&M wouldn’t suck on the OL like they do..

but the DL has about 85 five star players.. dudes want to play for this guy

just my opinion, maybe I am wrong

this was more about getting ER out of College Station than actually thinking he would do well there

because who the frick cares about Petrino

Robinson is the sinlge most important staff member we have as it pertains to keeping some semblance of this roster out of the portal and recruiting class together

He is going to get everything from us basically as a way to calm the roster storm. Petrino can frick off for all any of us care when it comes to that

You need to re-read my post.

We are not conducting a 2 game audition because the calendar does not permit it. If we make the decision to hire ER, it's almost entirely going to be based upon his ability to retain the roster and what Bjork thinks about him as of today, because Bjork isn't waiting until after the LSU game to decide who he wants to go after. I'm just pointing out that winning or losing to LSU isn't going to be a factor, absent someone else being first choice and backing out.

It will be determined by whether we can bring in some of our top candidates.

What does he have to do? Realistically… win out? 2 out of 3? Good showings regardless of out come?
