Disingenuous is calling the group that stepped on the field for Ohio State that game a top ten team.

If we are qualifying that game it should be noted that Mizzou had more NFL draft picks out of that game than tOSU did. So that makes the win even more impressive.

2023 was a good season for Drink. Add beating Ohio State in a bowl game.

He was also Coach of the Year that season.

the win is meaningless. A coach's bowl record in this era of college football is irrelevant.

They are exhibition games that fans and players alike could give a shite about it.

If Verge hires this, he needs to be fired. It goes against everything he said about the hire.

I appreciate a good cherry pick but saying they don’t beat any +.500
Teams while being over .500 as a program just seems kind of weak to me.

No argument here about it being meaningless. But it doesnt change the fact that Mizzou was a much bigger disadvantage than tOSU. Mizzou won because the DL absolutely obliterated the tOSU OL which did not have any opt-outs.

There is also 0-10 vs the top10 in the regular season and a VERY bad record overall vs ranked teams.

On the flip side, he has a very long current undefeated streak vs unranked teams.

Youre only getting one of those and its 100% guaranteed. The other 2 are 0% chance.

Yea, I could see me telling my bosses "Meeting goals on an annual basis is a terrible mentality. We gotta get out of this "it's met goals or bust" mentality. If the year only counts for those who meet their goals, the math isn't gonna math for most of the staff."

I probably wouldn't have a job for very long after that.

What are your expectations as a Missouri fan?

You’ve had better or equal years but very briefly. Sorry you can’t beat UGA or Alabama like everyone else

Drinkwitz’s team lost a game on a pick 6 to Major Burns. That alone should disqualify him from the search.

Drink would not be that bad of a hire. He is the only coach in SEC in the last 20 years to take an unranked preseason team to a NY6 bowl. He then followed that up with Mizzou's best recruiting class ever. Give the guy a break...he's doing very well at Mizzou and could do great things at LSU.

He's not my top candidate, but we would be a good hire. Your post is way overkill.

Drinkwitz would be a disaster that would set LSU back another 5-10 years when all said and done

I’m Not advocating for him at all but I’m also not going to lose my mind if he’s the guy.

It’s a crap shoot no matter what. Ed O had the best college football team of all time and BK was a complete bust.

I’d give Drink a chance before going crazy. Especially given the fact that our current PR position may prevent us from getting someone better.

I don’t think Saban is coaching again

I think Lane is playing us to getter a better deal from Ole Miss or someone else.

I’d be happy with Lane as HC but not as the highest paid coach in CFB. He hasn’t come close to earning that
