maybe thats the reason the contract has been sent back a time or 2.
is this fact?

the only time steele ran a D was as HC of Baylor and he was an epic fail there. he was also once choked by kevin greene when he was LB coach for the panthers. steele is a good position coach and very good recruiter. Saying he's more highly regarded than walker is asinine.
Wow... I've seemed to upset the Walker fan club here...
I'm going to end this discourse, frankly, because I don't really care enough to continue.

I can't hear the name Kevin Steele without thinking of this:
" I just wanted to create some attitude..."

you should end the discussion because you're a fricking moron.
giving steele credit for Bama's D?

we should have never gotten rid of Peveto. He was a coach here when pellini's D was highly ranked

Tenn has an unproven (at best) head coach and a soon to be corpse for a DC: damn you guys are lucky!

The Kiffin slams don't bother me, because I think that was a stupid hire.
Come to think of it... maybe I have some anti-west coast bias?

No, I think you have some legitimate concerns. This was obviously all set up before Fulmer was notified. Of course, being a fan you've got to line up behind your guy, and we all understand that. And if it works, it will look brilliant in hindsight. But if it doesn't, there will be UGA and Florida to pay.

Is Steele even in play? Where has this come from?

I will be rooting hard for the Vols, I just don't see myself buying any Kiffin real estate. I think we could have made a better decision.

Vol Boards say they are after him
Indicating that STeele doesn't like working for Saban
Never heard that one before

All I did was mention him as a good coach, then the thread turned into Steele v. Walker.

I doubt he does...
But I don't think he's going anywhere, at least for next season.

Agreed, they have a rocky relationship, but not bad enough to leave
Supposedly Steel has some UT ties? I don't know what they are, someone brought that up on Volnation

Transferred to Tennessee as a player, GAed at Tennessee, coached LBs at Tennessee, coached DBs at Tennessee.
"Supposedly". I mean, how do we "really" know anything?

seeing as the players turnover every 3-5 years
I am not sure what schools are on Walker's short list of where he would like to coach, but I am guessing he will be listening every year.
Just would like someone to last at least two recruiting seasons, because that seems like his strongest trait...

And Steele thought getting choke-slammed by Carolina Panthers' defensive end Kevin Greene on national TV last year was embarrassing.
