If Crowton is calling the bowl game, nothing good can come from disclosing next year's OC.
Crowton is looking for a safe landing somehwere, and that's Miles style anyway.
There is no way Miles is feeling out OC's without the decision having already been made.
yeah, this is what i've been saying.

I figured he was talking about BelowPar, but the context sounded like he was referring to a coaches name.

I just think there has to be some incentive for gonzales to jump ship

So your "source" close to Crowton was the man himself?
plead the fifth (which leads to obvious conclusions)

Do you think it's possible GC was told of his release by Miles and told to keep it under wraps until the right moment?
I think that's very plausible. I think this may very well be a replay of the Defensive situation last year.
There's also the slight possibility that Crowton doesn't know I suppose.

crowton needs to hop on his bike and ride the frick out of town

It's not unlike Henson to Missouri.
A guy just feels like he's run his course and sees a chance to grab the next rung.
The passing game coordinator title, along with UM's personality, and timing is everything.
Ego is such a big thing in coaching, and Urban has enough for the Florida program, all by himself.
How many coaches have made it that long with Saban?

Yeah, I think it's much more likely that he knows and keeps mum than doesn't know.
Also people who say "why would we hire offensive guys before the OC?" The answer is that we already had openings on the offensive side. Last year we had no defensive openings until all those guys left for other jobs...

Ha, well if he really is the "program manager" type many people believe, he'll only go as far as coaches will take him and we've significantly upgraded our staff over the last 2 years imo.

if henson is the o line hire its purely to be his sideline explainer again. he was (more) lost without Henson there to whisper sweet nothings about how the clock stops after an interception etc this year

Is that original?
I like it.
If Einstein had been around and/or followed football, I'm sure his definition of insanity would include paying a head coach 4 million dollars to fire his entire defensive staff one year, and then the offensive side the next.

You have to realize, it is in everyone's best interest for it to look like Crowton merely took another job and did not get fired.
It's in Miles' and LSU's interest mainly due to recruiting..
It's in Crowton's interest for obvious future career advancement and employment, not to mention simply ego.
If Miles and Crowton know they are splitting ways, it's probably staying between Miles and Crowton, because it's in both of their best interests to keep it that way.
All that said, who knows what will happen, but it is certainly not surprising that all the "insiders" including possibly Crowton himself would claim for now that Crowton has not been fired and will be here next year.

It's also plausible that we know who the new OC will be and they have green-lighted the position coaches.
Let's face it, you don't get information out of Miles. He gives it to you when he gets it to you.
That's what makes following this team so damn entertaining............and stressful.
Again, I'm with Belowpar, that's just what Crowton said, and like I said, I was more disturbed by the playcalling information.

How do you know him? Or is that something you'd like to keep to yourself...
