Listening to sports radio yesterday, the commentators were saying Jacobs is going nowhere; he's an Auburn man, in too deep with the good-ol-boy network.
If Gus loses to its two main rivals again, won't that be 4 years in a row?
It's like Stallings used to say, if you want keep your job you don't have to beat your rival every year, but you've gotta beat them more than they beat you.

5-5 the last 10 years. Y'all aren't as good as you think you are. You're also a 3 TD dog to Bama. Your program has fallen on hard times.

I think they will keep him even if he loses every game left except Coastal Carolina. Long loves Bert. The only way I see him being fired is if Long leaves Arkansas or he is forced to fire him.

Bert is great! He's a stumbling, bumbling, loveable character; a big personality. Seriously, Not sure why Arkansas seems to be falling off a bit. Maybe you can tell us why Arkansas is trending downward. Is it Bert? Bad luck?

He has made some really bad assistant coaching hires.

I don't think so because of the new renovations for next year. It is not going to be pretty showing those off with a lackluster crowd. I think Long knows this. I think the only way he stays is 6-6 or better.

Is AU gonna replace Jacobs or keep him?

I would think he would have to go, and have heard as much, but the longer it drags on, the more I think he is leveraging his connections with the good ole boy network. Stupid if we keep him.

Who does Auburn fans want?

Me, I would want someone like Chip Kelly, Frost, or Fuente. Most Auburn fans would want someone stupid like Bill Clark.

LSU's last hire: The shirtless cajun redneck from Waterboy.

Maybe you want to look at our record vs you, then get your checkbook out and go hang out on the street corner in Golden Meadow.

Get you some, Baw.

He gets one more year at Ark

Doesn't the buyout go down significantly after this year? And don't forget, Arkansas is making a huge upgrade to RRS. Recruits will have to be impressed, no?

It would be the most Auburn Auburn hire in the history of Auburn.

Unless AU has covertly gotten someone to replace Jacobs, their timing might not be good for hiring a new HC. If they really want to part ways with Gus, maybe they could name Steele Interim HC (with a shot to win the job) for 2018, freeing their OC from being handcuffed by Gus. However, AU could probably get Petrino if they want him.

Why would someone want Florida right now? They just fired their coach after winning the east twice.

And is trying to shite the coach out of the buyout in the contract. The Florida job isn't what it use to be. Who would want to work for these assholes

In the last 10 years, we have the 2nd most national titles of any school, the 2nd most SEC titles, and the 6th highest win percentage in the nation......

I would say that is "pretty good" for your time frame

And by "2nd most", you mean "1", right? That is a 6-way tie for 2nd, too.

Ok, so we are top 6 guaranteed in Natties and win percentage over the last 10 years.

Wouldnt you call that pretty good?

If the buyout is indeed $5.9 million instead of $15 million, I don't think it will be a giant issue. It's a lot of money, but that's major college football today for you. High risk, high reward.

Unless you're Iowa.
