Bert is as good as gone. you just got to know how to read the tealeves.
Jeff Long is just too classy to not support the coach through the season. Jeff Long is all about class.

I'm hoping it's already been discussed and Bret is going to take Nebraska at the end of the year, we let him walk away and forgive his buyout.
Then Long already has Kiffin signed and announces it within the hour after Bret is gone.

What I was thinking, he doesn't panic fire and meets with people in silence.
Everyone hates the GOBN, until they don't have an inside source about all the new hiring and inner workings.

Bert has to go. How is Gus going to move to Arky if Bert stays?
I don't think everyone realizes how much he isn't liked by anyone not at the Cro$$ Churches.

I don't think Bert is the problem and part of me would keep him on. However for him to be a good coach he needs to be micro managed by the ad

That invalidates every post you've ever made.

Florida’s last two hires: DC at Texas and HC of Colorado State.
Tennessee’s last two hires: HC of Lousiana Tech and HC of Cincinnati.
Arkansas’s last two hires: HC of the Atlanta Falcons and HC of Wisconsin.
Thank God we’re not shopping from the same bin as Florida and Tennessee.

I think Bielema winds up at Iowa State. MattCampbell is a hot commodity.

Bert's fatal flaws are that not only is he a terrible gameday coach, but he had no idea what he was getting himself into in the SEC. Not only did he have little to no connections with the league, he had no idea what kind of speed and athletes he was going to face every week even from the "Bad" schools.
He still has not figured out that Arkansas always has and always will need Texas player to make up a lot of his roster to be successful. He also did not understand that Arkansas has some really good players, but they are usually so undervalued and under the radar or slightly undersized that he did not pay them the proper attention.
Most former coaches knew the state had many diamonds in the rough, and had to recruit a guy even though they might not meet expected height and weight measurables.
He also prioritized size and strength over speed, perhaps his biggest mistake was having literally zero concept of how to win in the league. It's not by how much a dude can fricking bench squat and how much weight he can carry, it's about explosiveness, conditioning, tenacity, and situational football... Four things his teams have gotten worse at every single year.
He has maybe the worst strength coach in the country who made all the guys put in weight instead of working on ways to become more athletic and his assistant hires and recruiting prowess has gone into the toilet.
He also plays MAJOR favorites and likes to be "one of the guys". For years he has refused to play guys that are clearly better players than the starters and the reasons are still unknown as to why. Once he does finally raize what's going on its too late.
His actions have sunken the flagship, plain and simple.... Before the boat even got out of harbor.

Really? Florida, yes without a doubt, but right now Tennessee is not a better job than Arkansas. I don't see any reason to expect that Tennessee will be a better job in the near future. Recent coaching hires should bear that out if nothing else.
