If he hires Riley, yes.

If he hires Jimbo, no.

My trust is fickle (not the coach).

He’s never missed and this is the biggest hire of his career and it’s at his alma. He’s going to do everything he possibly can to get us an elite coach.

Aleva would allow us to get played and give other guys raises at their current spot.

I sense that Woodward knows how to avoid getting played.

Agree SlidellCajun.
I'm so glad Alleva is gone for this hire.

Do I trust SW?

Yes sir I do. He did stellar work for the Baseball hire and Womens BB hire. I think he is doing a great job in keeping things close to the vest, keeping his staff quiet and it seems he is somehow keeping things quiet at the place his target coach is working. So all of this is good for LSU.

Keeping things quiet and giving the press nothing at all so that they are all just throwing crap against the wall is great news for LSU.

He kinda resembles the Kingfish Huey Long. They could pass for cousins.

Alleva was not good at his job at all. You are right, every coach played him. Just not a good AD. Woodward is all business

Yes, I have yet to see him make a bad hire. The Jimbo hire looked like he overpaid at aTm but in hindsight it looks about right.

I do not want Jimbo as my first choice. Wouldn't absolutely hate it but definitely wouldn't love it. But LSU could do much worse.

In general? No. To hire the best coach possible with exhausting all resources at his disposal? Yes
