I truly don’t understand the obsession with him on this board.
Too much WWE. "He's young!" "He's hungry!" "He's passionate!" "He curses and does the worm in the locker room!" It's all personal descriptives.
He's 35, has one year of big time play calling experience, and is 22-15 in the worst conference in the country. If he keeps it going and dominates the Big 12 for 8 years, maybe he deserves a look from LSU. Because if you hire this guy right now, and it turns out he wasn't quite ready for the pressure cooker and needs to "learn on the job," things start looking real scary real quick.

Brent Key played at Ga Tech and is at home at Ga Tech.

Brent Key is a solid coach that has brought a sense of intensity and toughness to the GT program. He’s built a good staff, and has turned the GT program around in a very short timeframe.
Some believe that Haynes King is the reason, but that is a very surface-level viewpoint, IMO. Key has brought discipline to tech … a big improvement.
The bad news? …. Key is coaching his Alma Mater.

Saban gave us a prioritized list? I guess I missed that.

Is the 77th overall scoring offense in the country considered more? Our standards have dropped way down for what we consider good enough to get a crack at coaching here.

People saying he looks good because he has Haynes King aren't paying attention. King was very pedestrian at A+M and his first year at GaTech. He's been developed and is a much better player now. GaTech has been a tough place to win. Key is an excellent coach.

He's also winning games still after losing on of the best quarterbacks in the country.

I’d personally like an offensive mind at HC. So Sumrall and Key would fall behind Dilly for me.
The only guy I’d break that preference in a second for is Lanning.

He’s a Sexton client so we probably already have to some extent.
