Do Jimbo's recruits like him enough to follow him to another job?

He supposedly has recruited studs--would they follow him?

A MSU, for example, could get Jimbo cheap if his contract is like others. He is not a good coach but if he brought a bus load of 4 or 5 stars with him that be interesting.

I doubt he wants to coach again.

Why would he go grind in Starkville when he can be paid 75M to not?

Dude has won life. Enjoy it while you’re young enough to.

He's a huge hunter/fisher. He's going to do a whole lot of that for a couple years I think.

1. No

2. Who is dumb enough to hire Jimbo?

3. There’s always someone dumb enough

Aggy recruits are mercs. Doesn’t matter who the coach is.

So just so everyone knows, he had no offset in his contract.

He can go work anywhere he wants and AM gets no credit and have to pay every dime.

So if he WANTS to go work somewhere, he can.

I sure as frick wouldn't. I'd retire, work in TV maybe and live the life.

But some people are just made differently

In 2004 Jimbo was offered the MSU job, he called a mutual friend of mine. He told Jimbo, don’t take the job, wait, a better job will come up. MSU then hired Sylvester Croom after Jimbo passed on the job.

There WILL NOT be another job for Jimbo. He’s about to get $76M, enough to set up the Fisher family for a few generations.

There certainly doesn’t have to be another job with that kinda money. But,
I could also see a couple of other scenarios where he either realizes he can make MORE money or he just wants something to do. He’s only 58. I could see Nick reaching out to him as an analyst (something to do), going to a middling P5 (for the money) or even a TV studio job (little of both).

Kind of seems like the boosters looked at all the 4 and 5 stars on 247 and just started throwing offers.

His buyout is unlike most other coaches. Anything he makes on a new contract will not offset his buyout. Sounds like A&M is on the hook for all 76M no matter what.

If you were getting paid $75 million for doing nothing, would you get another job?

All that money. Why coach? To many long hours and to many headaches:
