Pretty sure Enos did it to be the OC for Bert

Kiffin knows Saban. Knows how to scheme against him and beat him. At LSU, he’ll have the players to do it.
If this year taught us anything, anything at all, it's that we dont have the players to compete with Bama. Stop fooling yourselves. We dont have the players or depth to beat them and a OC wont magically solve that.

If that was the plan, why give Steve a two year deal?
In reality O wanted Ensminger the whole time, he floats some names he knows our nazi like compliance dept. will never approve (freeze, briles) and then says well Steve is clearly the best man for this job that we can get.
Steve’s promotion was one of self preservation for O, he knew he’s not even close to the best man for the job, but the safest choice for him. His offense does just enough to get O to 8-9 wins and get to that extension our idiotic admins will inevitably give to him.

Steve also makes a convenient sacrificial lamb in the event O starts catching heat. Blame Steve, hopefully buy himself another year.

Do you think he went to FAU expecting to never have a losing season?

Remember when we hired O with the wink-wink promise that Kiffin would be our OC?

That was O’s friend Lane getting in on the con game. He was never coming to LSU as OC.

This is a sad thread. When did you guys get an opening at OC?
Ensminger didn't want the job and has been pretty terrible.

What exactly did saban do to him?

Also, if it's such an inconsequential thread and topic, why waste your time posting in it?
Because bama fans always have to make everything about themselves.

But not the LSU fans bringing up Bama and Saban as "reasons" Kiffin would take a step down to be LSU's OC?
Riiiight.

Actually the main reason given in this thread is that he and O are buddies, which they are. The rest is all supplemental. Furthermore, given the facts that LSU would pay him more and he went a scintillating 5-7 this year, taking an OC position at a high profile school may not actually be a demotion.
Going to FAU was a mistake.

It's a world of what have you done for me lately, but Kiffin went 11-3 at FAU his first year. 5-7 doesn't wipe that away, it's better than any record they had under Patridge for 3 years. Hell, it's their 3rd best finish this decade behind Kiffin's 11-3 and a 6-6 under Carl Pelini.
He had really bad QBs issues this year, but folks are acting like he should tuck his tail and run because he didn't take them on an UCF run. At this point he needs experience showing he can help build a program, because he has shown he can't maintain one at USC. He has to eventually show he has grown as a HC, cutting bait won't do that.
Saban/Bama, which anyone can admit is superior to LSU/Coach O at this time, only got Kiffin to FAU. Not sure dropping down to a place like LSU is gonna launch him to a bigger school...

Kiffin may just be one of those guys who just isn't good in a HC position. There is quite a bit of evidence to support this. And with regard to going to "a place like LSU" STFU dude
You really think it would be a blow to his career if, hypothetically speaking, he came to LSU and was able to finally fix our offense after over a decade of everyone seeing how shitty it's been? That'd be the biggest feather in his professional cap to this point at "a place like LSU."

And there's also plenty of evidence that he wants to be a HC, it feeds his ego.

Don't take it so personal, my comment was directed more towards the hypothetical job opening. "A place like LSU" isn't having a HC opening like a lot of schools, it might have an OC opening.

Same shite, different day. Every OC was suppose to do this for LSU, yet it's the same. Starts at the top.

FAU's offense struggled this year without Briles leading it.

No. Stop asking for more pro style coordinators. Only HUNH spread.

Of course it did. Kiffin doesnt run a spread. Kiffin also struggled at times while he was at Bama. Also USC struggled offensively while Kiffin was the HC.
Its walking into another Cam Cameron Matt Canada scenario. A big name that doesnt run a modern offense.
Hire a guy who runs a modern offense. If LSU fails to do that then they will lose for the 9th time in a row to Alabama.
