Crowton deserved this year. He was still under contract and who knows how good the offense would have been under Perrilloux. His contract is now up, we have had problems 3 straight years and there appear to be better OCs available this year than last year.

If I am not mistaken, Crowton's contract is up. If this is the case, they will not renew it and will go after someone else (not Leach).
I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after (1) Oky States OC, (2) Boise's OC, (3) Major Applewhite, or another to be named later.
I don't think that Crowton is retained and I would think he probably knows it. I am sure that Miles is affording him the opportunity to try to find another job so as not to have another fired on his resume.
I would assume by early to mid January, we will have a new OC in place. I think Stud will be gone. I think that BG will be gone as well. I hope we retain Frank Wilson though.

true...but if Les thinks his time here is short, he may think he has a better shot at winning a championship in 2011 with the current line-up vs. breaking in a new system. (although he's already won one with a first year OC...ironically)

I think the offensive problems go beyond Crowton. Stud and Gonzalez need to get the ax, even if Crowton is somehow retained. I have been an LSU fan for a long, long time and I never remember our receivers dropping so many passes. Obviously, they our QBs are not SEC caliber but the WRs dropped a ton of catchable balls.
I still think the OL grossly underperformed as well. Both losses this year are directly attributable to horrible OL play. Stud has been horrible since getting here and needs to leave.
Wilson is a recruiting machine and I was very pleased with the RBs this year. He is the best offensive staff person we have.

1. He had a young QB two years in a row

4. He recieved the benefit of the doubt for his job in 07.
None of those excuses apply to this year. If anyone thinks Miles is happy with the offensive production, they are kidding themselves and/or letting their Miles hatred blind them.

If I had anything to do with we would. But I don't so I would say 90% chance he stays.

I'd like to see the stats as far as drops this year in comparison to recent years. I know Toliver dropped a few, but I will give Gonzo a pass on Shep this year because he is not a natural receiver and has little experience there.

I remain optimistic about Miles and his tenure at LSU.
I do think he will make a change.
If he doesn't, I'll become a lot more skeptical about the future of the program (though I won't abandon all hope like many).

We also need to see his evaluation/recruitment of WRs. The first month he was here, he targeted Kadron Boone and Armand Williams as guys that deserved an offer. Let's see how they develop.

I don't know why everyone wants Billy gone. WRs were maybe slightly disappointing, but hard to put it on them. Randle had few opportunities, but maximized them.
I'm not sure TT was ever the player we thought he would be (though super talented).
Shep is still learning WR.
Gonzo is probably our best recruiter on staff with Wilson and Miles with the added bonus of Florida connections. I don't think the job he did this year is deserving of a firing...

Do any of you here truly believe that Mettenberger would actually be given the chance to start in front of Jefferson next year if he came here?
The offense is going to suck for at least one more year. Get prepared. Get used to it.

Nope. I lost hope when he didn't fire him last year. He pulled the trigger on Mallveto, why not do the same with Crowton. He is here to stay until Miles is fired.

Why are you guys so goofy about this. 10-2 keeps Les in great standing. The offensive rank is not good enough for the 2nd year in a row. Les probably went to GC last year but I'll bet Les will be told to make a change. There's too many offensive problems

All belowpar said was that Miles wanted him. Nothing more, nothing less.
People are trying to put words in his posts and make him sound like he's wrong every time he posts.
