He was an offensive assistant at Baylor from 2008-2011.

Took HC job at Eastern Illinois in 2012. Went 7-5 then 12-2 with a conference record of 14-1.

Then took HC job at Bowling Green and went 8-6 then 10-3 with a conference record of 12-4.

He's in his second year at Syracuse. Went 4-8 last year, is currently 4-4, and will likely finish around 7-5. 3 of his losses this year were at LSU, at NC State, and at Miami, all close games. Beat the defending national champs when Syracuse entered the game something like a 21 point underdog.

He's 56 years old, has coached all over the country, seems to be very focused and passionate, and runs a high tempo offense. I'd be excited if Arkansas hired him.

He'd be a great hire at Arkansas. His system works well with lesser talented teams.

Is he a good recruiter?

He was Baylor's recruiting coordinator at one point. He seems pretty charismatic.

And he runs the system I think you need at Arkansas.

Arkansas doesn't NEED to run high tempo spread. We've shown that under Nutt, Petrino, and Bert.

No matter the offense, you have to have a good offensive line and that's where we've been hurting this year and last.

Why leave Syracuse for Arkansas? As long as cuse ponies up the cash there's no reason to leave.

Seems like a pretty good fit. Probably not that costly to get him too.

We would double his salary, give him more money for assistants, better facilities, better weather, more exposure, better recruiting pool, and he could coach here forever if he averages 8 wins. I find the Syracuse job intriguing, but it's rinky dink compared to what the Arkansas job is.

I have been impressed with how hard his Syracuse teams play. He gets the most out of them every week.

While I don't think we need to run the ultra HUNH, and I actually prefer a more traditional pro style offense, it does seem kind of cool that he would basically ressurect Nolan Richardson's 40 minutes of hell on the football field.

You ever been in Syracuse in December?

I doubt 'Cuse can pay as much as Arkansas can, and they do not have access to enough recruiting talent to build a nationally competitive team.

Syracuse is a stepping-stone job. In the right hands, Arkansas can be a destination.

I just emailed Stricklin your idea. I'll share the hiring referral bonus with you.

Babers at UF is not a bad idea.

Arkansas has a pretty low ceiling. Don't see why anyone would go there. What can one hope to accomplish by competing with Saban, Auburn, and LSU every year? Almost no chance of winning the division, much less the conference.

Dino will be able to eventually get a MUCH better job than Arkansas.

I mean I guess if you consider 10-11 wins a low ceiling.

Nutt had Arkansas in the national title hunt twice. Petrino took us to the Sugar Bowl and the following year we finished in the top 5. Arkansas has appeared in the SECCG three times since joining in '92. It's a top 25 job where you will keep your job while getting paid well if you win 8 games/year.

Arkansas doesn't have the recruiting advantages as an LSU/Georgia/FL, but we do have access to enough talent to compete and make some runs without the risk of getting fired if you dont average 10 wins a year.

Petrino could have taken a "better job" after back to back 10+ win seasons and he didn't want to leave. Bert was at a destination job coming off multiple conference titles and left FOR Arkansas. But I guess I should ignore that and listen to insecure internet people who just KNOW Arkansas is an unattractive destination for coaches.
