If Riley wins the playoff why would he leave?

He won’t (leave).

The only chance with Riley would be for them to lose and miss the playoffs. Even then, its probably unlikely that he leaves. But that’s the only chance where the stars could potentially align - him missing the playoffs.

As entertaining as it’s been to watch, Spencer Rattler’s suck is going to end up fricking us.

I am with your thinking. If the jumbo talk turns real, I will be shocked.

I will be happy with any of these names on your short list. (Riley, Aranda, Dabo)

Yeah I know it’s popular right now to say “OU won’t win out” with the way they’ve squeaked by so far this year, but I think OU is winning out. That QB change is going to propel them to the playoff IMO and they will continue to get better every week down the stretch.

Jimbo is not a great coach. We need a great coach. We must get a guy that can SUSTAIN a top 5 program. We must hire the guy that can keep us in the playoff discussion EVERY SEASON.

People saying Jimbo Fisher isn't a good coach are not being honest with themselves. He just beat Alabama with a trash roster. The man is an elite recruiter and he doesn't have aspirations beyond college football. So those of you who are complaining about a coach leaving after a few years, Jimbo Fisher wouldn't be that guy. He would recruit his arse off at LSU and would bring top three classes in every season. Some of y'all need to put your big boy pants on and stop hating the guy because of past crap and think of the future of the football program. I think Jimbo coming to LSU would be a homerun hire. I think Lincoln Riley would be THE homerun hire, though.

You were doing ok until you bumped you head with this statement! Dude is undefeated and #3 in the country. He's qualified! I personally don't want him, but you saying he's not qualified is idiotic.

FYI, I do agree with you about Ron DeSantis in 2024 instead of Trump, so your comment really is surprising for someone who appeared to have common sense.

It blows my mind that Napier is mentioned so much more than Aranda in these "sauces" posts. I can't wrap my brain around that. Napier is just so unremarkable to me.

Are we just assuming that if OU wins out they make the playoffs? The first batch of rankings indicate they're not the most appealing to the committee this year. You have 4 one loss teams ahead of them, plus Cincinnati. I get they'll beat two top 12 teams on their way (if those teams win out other than the OU game), but maybe they take a one loss Pac 12 champ over undefeated OU?? You just never know

Use logic. No one can say they know because this is kept tightly sealed amid the misinformation. But we know the list was very short. We know Woodward realized O was over his head before the 2020 season. Who would be on a $100 million dollar list back then? Who is the one no one gives a serious consideration to leave his successful program to come to LSU? That list of names may help you figure out the likely man who will be our next coach.

There’s nobody in the $100 million list that hasn’t been discussed heavily here except Kirby and Ryan Day. Neither of which make even a remote amount of sense.

He's not Its just the hire O syndrome from 2016, that all theses Napier fan boy's will now tell you they weren't on board with. Napier getting this job would be an utter embarrassment for the program. Based on the polls ULL is not even a top 5 Group of 5 team.

If, and it’s a big if, OU wins out, they are in.

An undefeated OU will never miss the playoffs.

Who's saying that? Not me, I said he was qualified for and interview. I never said hire him, in fact I said I wouldn't.
Just wanted to clarify, because you clearly didn't comprehend what I was saying.

How do you manage hiring a coach and keeping it quiet on someone like Riley or Tucker if they make the title game and play all the way into mid January?

Same thing with someone like Urban Meyer, you have to wait until end of NFL season which would be end of December.

If Woodward is big game hunting, their is a price to pay for that and you could very well end up holding the bag at the end.
