Lolol they still say coach o is in the mix. What a joke.

If i recall correctly, one of O's stipulations in accepting the interim position was that he would be considered as a candidate. Looks like LSU is honoring their word.

Well for starters the Heberts on wwl did all they could to push for O and they have a powerful outlet to voice their opinion.

I think everyone is pretty much in agreement... If LSU snags either Fisher or Herman, we've made a good hire and the future looks much brighter than a future under Les.

i'd be ecstatic with either after les miles. both homerun hires. Alleva is the man if he brings home one of our top 2 picks. LSU is back!

The troubling thing is that the goalposts have kept shifting in his favor. First he had to win out, and win the SEC. then when he shite the bed against bama, that was irrelevant because we'll never beat bama again so just deal with it, the real test is arkansas and florida, and texas a&m.

then he shits the bed AGAIN vs florida, and they're just talking as if it doesn't matter.

the new coach will be named next Monday at the latest. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. (But, remember, I know nothing.)

1. If Alleva made that statement without having a very, very, very confident idea that they had their man in place, then he used very poor judgment in making it. If it takes a week, after Saturday, then it looks like that Alleva is admitting they didn't get it right.

2. Unless Jimbo issues a very clear and unambiguous statement this week that he is not going to LSU, I will go to bed on Saturday night thinking he will be named LSU HC on either Sunday or Monday. (I would guess he would call a team meeting for either Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, inform the team, then jump on a private plane to Baton Rouge.)

But, I know absolutely nothing. Just pure speculation on my part.

Orgeron, a 55-year-old who’s now 10-4 in interim roles at Southern Cal and LSU, remains a viable candidate for the full-time position, the source confirmed.

Hiring O would be so emblematic of the parochial, xenophobic, backslapping, good ole boy elements of LSU. Football would effectively be over for the duration of his tenure. That article was terrifying because it insinuated that Orgeron was the presumotive head coach had he only beaten Florida. Do better, Alleva

That's all wonderful but there is a reason people of power and decision don't are few and far between. The people actually making this decision don't care about Bobby Hebert, Tiger droppings, or 104.5. They are in this position to make money for the TAF and more importantly they are in this position because they have already done so in recent history.

Do you ignorant shits not understand that LSU publicly leaking the Orgeron love and scenarios has been a ploy to motivate him and the team to salvage the season? He was never getting the job. Quit melting you intellectual betas.

We are going to do what we have to do to get Fisher or Herman.

Period.

fwiw, 247 did an update as well today and didnt mention Gundy or Holgorson, but did name Fisher, Orgeron, Herman, Fedora, Fuente, and "possibly" MacIntyre.

in a separate thread it was also said we have not made an offer or "aggressively pursued Herman" so far, and have focused mostly on Orgeron and Fisher.

I have always thought it was Jimbo, but I don't understand the advantage of "leaking" that info to Dellenger about offering Jimbo after the game on Saturday. That would put even more pressure on Jimbo this week amongst the media. Why do this if he's your guy? In the bag or not?

Couple this with that odd letter from Alleva the day after Herman pimp slaps Petrino on national tv...and reports of Herman being in BR airport with his wife that day...and...

Herman may be the guy.

Which is totally fricking stupid if there is even an ounce of truth to this.

All it would take would be O losing a couple of games and FSU matching LSU's offer and were just standing there holding our dicks.

I want to believe LSU has used these 2 months to pursue 5-7 candidates who would be the best fit for the job, and then work their way down the list accordingly, instead of just putting all their eggs in 2 baskets.
