If they're even floating the idea of making the hire next weekend, that means we've got our guy.

Don't know if it's Herman or Jimbo, but LSU has its man IMO.

I don't mean that in a smarmy, pessimistic way either. just be prepared to be disappointed. makes a good hire better for you, and a bad hire less painful.

I admire your optimism, but not necessarily. It probably means they have their "board".

The fact that they were actually planning on doing this is terrifying.

It's terrifying and ridiculous. Alleva and Co. wanted this process to take care of itself, and hire an incompetent head coach.

Sorry, Alleva, but you're actually going to have to do your job.

Exactly. I don't see how these people hollering for O besides the players can't see that. The players will always back their coach, the coach could be winless two years in a row and they will think he's the best man for the job.

Ed Orgeron remains a viable option

I can't fathom why Ed Orgeron remains a viable option for the LSU Head football Coach. I mean are we serious about competing for a national championship or not. Who are we fighting with to get Ed Orgeron .....oh wait nobody

Orgeron was never getting this job. Pure motivation for the team/fans and a bargaining chip for the real candidates was all O was.

He’s expected to meet with LSU athletic director Joe Alleva on Friday after the Tigers’ regular-season finale on Thanksgiving night at Texas A&M, where he’ll lay out a long-term plan that likely includes hiring a proven guru as offensive coordinator. Orgeron and Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin remain close friends.

The thought of that is absolutely terrifying.

I'd very much like to believe that; I'm not sure I do, though. Hopefully, we'll never have to find out.

It's funny how Alleva mentions integrity yada yada, I feel as if he is going to try to use Herman's supposed DWI as an excuse as to why he didn't get him. He's setting the stage for a big disappointment! I hope like hell I'm mistaken

I think everyone is pretty much in agreement... If LSU snags either Fisher or Herman, we've made a good hire and the future looks much brighter than a future under Les.
