Of course not but that won’t stop the idiots from insisting that Lane took this job because he somehow needed to so that he can eventually leave for bama.

Seems to me he would’ve just waited at ole Miss for bama. Our offer reportedly wasn’t any better than ole miss or Florida’s. Why is he here ? Clearly it’s because he covets the bama job. There is no other explanation

It cannot possibly be because he wanted the LSU job.

If we’ve learned nothing else recently, we’ve learned that sec football fans aren’t reasonable.

I don't understand why people think DeBoer would leave for Michigan or Penn State.

Yeah I don't see any reason to randomly come out and prcoclaim your happiness and specifically mention you aren't planning on talking to anyone unless you were trying to save face for when you leave

It’s easy to see the reasons. When these rumors swirl, it could lead to both recruits and current players asking questions and could tempt them to look elsewhere if they aren’t sure that the coach they committed to playing for will be there. This statement puts all the rumors to bed.

Kiffin will never be given the approval by Alabama BOS/AD unless half of them are fired/resign.

Too many bridges were burned on Kiffin's exit.

What if, and I’m just spitballing here, what Kiffin doesn’t actually view the bama job as his destination job?

Definitely can see it being that. Just hard to see him turning down a less stressful job with big paid day to stay at Bama where he doesn't seem to be living up to standards. Just my opinion though

7-1 in the sec in year 2 is mediocre? Beating LSU both of his first two years mediocre with horrible qb play? What does that make LSU?

You guys are the ones claiming he is mediocre. Most of the calls to fire him are coming from Alabama fans.

What are the stories behind that? I have always heard stories but nothing ever definitive unless it's just the Saban firing.

Only the absolute crazy ones. The man doesn't even have his own qb or OL playing yet.

It's sidewalk alabama fans, OM fans, UF fans wanting to get a rise out of LSU fans so they say "Kiffin to bama," because they know our fanbase is absurdly insecure about everything.

Kiffin isn't going to bama even if he and bama fans wanted him to. Very prominent folks in Alabama don't want him to, and that's the end of it. That's the truth.

There’s that good ole bitch boy thought process some of you have. First thought of any situation is negative or bama. You hit both. Congrats

Calm down buddy. It was a hypothetical inquiring how hard they will try, which they WILL.

I am in no way actually worried, you seem to be more worried about it than anyone else in the thread. Take a xanax

Jimmy Sexton is laughing his arse off. Float a rumor that he’s leaving for Michigan, even though everyone knows he isn’t going anywhere and then sit back and collect a nice extension and a raise. It’s too easy for him at this point.

I haven’t seen a statement from the athletic department.

ETA There it is. The kiss of death.
