Yeah if I was lucky enough to make millions per year and actually be able to afford a nice lifestyle in the Bay area I sure as shite wouldn't look to leave.

Why would he say yes to that question?

Coachspeak aside, given his background, Stanford is the best job in the country to him. Why would he leave that?

Shaw...WC guy. Dad coached at Stanford. Shaw played at Stanford. Stanford is a top 5 Uni in the world. Lives in moderate temp NorCal. He's said he's never leaving Stanford unless he is forced out. Would be Les...2.0 anyways.

None of these coaches are gonna admit ANYTHING about LSU in the middle of their seasons....
Alleva and Shaw could be photographed at a dinner for two at a fine restaurant and Shaw would still deny...

Problem is some clowns on this board actually believe whatever a coach says!!!

would be a horrible hire

not an upgrade over Miles at all

all that being said, this is the type of hire Alleva will make

The first time I even heard his name was by Mike Detillier the other day. Doesn't seem like a good fit, anyways.

I certainly hope he continues to laugh it up. Because that's what I do when thinking about his chances of success here.

I just cannot see him as a good fit at LSU.

Even if he IS very interested in the LSU job, he'd have the same answer. It's week 5.

David Shaw wasn't ever even going to get an email or phone call from us.

For starters he's a West Coast guy and Stanford alum, he's not leaving Stanford for anywhere except MAYBE a job in the NFL.

Secondly, despite being a former OC he's had numerous issues with getting consistently good offensive performances out his teams. His defense has carried him a lot since he's been HC. Sounds like exactly like the guy we just got rid of if you ask me...To my point please check out his 16-6 loss to Northwestern last season. Or the 5 games he lost in 2014 where Stanford scored 10 twice, 14, 16 and 17 points in double OT. Or take a look a those 3 losses in 2013, where Stanford scored 17, 20 and 21 points. The teams who won those games didn't score more than 27 in each game. Let's bring up 2012 too, both losses his team scores 13 points in, 1 of which was an overtime game. Other's teams scores in those games? 17 and 20 points.

All sound too familiar?

Do people really think that a sitting coach at a successful program, during the season, is going to admit whether he would be interested in an open job?

Of course not.

And no, I'm not saying Shaw would have any logical interest in the job!

But in this case, Shaw said it because he absolutely means it. The guy is a Stanford alum, he's at his dream job.

And like I posted above, he'd never a phone call or email from us for not only that reason, but the reason being he is VERY VERY much like Les Miles riding those defenses and struggling to put consistently good offenses on the football field. Basically, we're not firing Miles to hire another Miles.
