You have to ask yourself, first as an investor, second as a fan, do you really want to do anything that might help Miles stay any longer than necessary?
This is the discussion on the table.

I would do what I can to win the most you can next year. Louisiana's recruiting class is too important to let slip away. If Miles is gone after that, the next coach will have a boatload of elite talent to work with...makes the job even more attractive too...

First of all, there's a boatload of talent presently slipping away, unfortunately not as much on the lines as we would have liked this past season.
I think the acquisition of Wilson, who wants to be here BTW, along with Gonzales, and keeping Chavis and Haley happy, will bode well for the class of 2011. Rasco might be the only one with a wandering eye, regardless of next season's outcome.
There just has to be a way that Miles can be convinced it's not in the program's best interests to put all of our eggs in one basket at every frickin position. It's difficult to worry about developing talent when you are struggling with scheme and coordination issues. We need to gain experience next season in spite of lack of direction.

He wont get fired if it happens. GC is going to opt to be passing game coordinator at Georgia Tech 10 days from now.

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but there's an article posted on Scout from about 6-7 hours ago regarding Crowton and a QB coaching position elsewhere. I don't know if a subscription is required to read it so I don't want to give away too many details.

1) that's hilarious that someone thinks Crowton can coach a QB up!
2) that's awesome that someone thinks Crowton can coach a QB up!

If Crowton is gone by tomorrow afternoon, I will go to the Rose Bowl and run out naked on the field during the game as a moment of celebration. Hopefully this will sicken so many gump players that they will not be able to play. Please get some bail money ready.
Hey LAT - are you going to the game???
happy NEW YEAR - hope we all have a better one than last.

There's a couple of threads on this board with smoke in them...so you never know if it's going to happen or not.
