opefully they will give Gonzales full control of the offense.
hopefully Miles hires an innovative quality OC that has a proven track record for developing QBs.

Well, Crowton is proven and we had the #112 ranked offense. There are only about 7 spots lower that we could go...
that's not a legit reason for hiring another unproven coach who has zero QB coaching experience and was passed over twice by Meyer.

If Gonzo is promoted...LSU has a free slot to hire a DEDICATED QB coach. I'd much rather that than another situation like Crowton, who sits in the booth and makes a phone call after every interception. I want a guy on the sidelines with our QBs and has nothing but QBs to worry about...not the offense too.

I'm not buying the Gonzo to OC personally. I wouldn't mind it though...just to see what he could do, like I said, its a win win in my eyes.

This rumor was started by a poster on Tigerbait who claims he has a source that is very close with the program. He said that Crowton will be gone by the end of the week...

Hopefully they will give Gonzales full control of the offense.
I have heard similar...announcement after NCG.

I have also heard that BG had some clause in his contract at UF that would not allow him to take a lateral position within the SEC...

This, I doubt. There is no way to hold a coach to this clause and it's even easier to come up with some B.S. title to assign said coach to make it appear as if he received a promotion.

Which is why you bring in Krag to be your full-time QB coach...

The recruiting guys typically deny coaching changes are on the horizon until they're made

Who's gonna take him at HC? He was a disaster at Louisville. His rep. is definitely tarnished right now.

Could be looking to do some work to get back into good appearance?

Just speculating.

it's not a win win bc another year like '09 next year doesn't guarantee anything as far a change at HC, it's just more luster off the LSU program. Don't see how it's possibly a good idea for on the job training at the OC spot.

someone will take him as a OC, QB is a huge step down even for someone who failed as bad as he did.

Would be better than seeing him as our OC. Not really sold on him personally.

What makes me kinda worried is BP said hes basically only made a few calls and Kragthorpe was the guy. So either Miles isn't hiring anyone...or hes sealed the deal, that is why this guy hasn't gone anywhere.

If we hire this guy as OC...I'd much rather take a chance on Gonzo because nothing in his background impresses me. We all know it was Petrino's offense when he was under him.

Crowton's buyout is expensive...so it would kinda make sense to promote Gonzo as OC as a cheap move...especially if management is losing faith in keeping Miles for the longterm.

But you're right Books...if Miles was fired next year, I'm not sure LSU would go out and get a homerun hire. They might do a Chiz like AU did with their hire...I know Tubby was costly to them. Or might not get rid of him at all...and eventually, its going to start hurting recruiting if it hasn't already.
