I will gladly eat crow if he is canned or leaves for another HC position, however, word is he is not leaving.

If Crowton is gone by tomorrow afternoon, I will go to the Rose Bowl and run out naked on the field during the game as a moment of celebration. Hopefully this will sicken so many gump players that they will not be able to play. Please get some bail money ready.

Honestly, how can the offense be any worse than it was this year?

Seems like any hire is gonna be accepted for his first year because it shouldn't be hard to improve upon the turd we laid on the field in '09.

I've heard this a few times, and it just seems kinda odd. for one, I thought I'd read that he was calling the red zone plays this past season. Anyway, Mullen seems like somewhat of a control freak. Were they up big and Urban was throwing BG a bone/ seeing what he could do?

And hell I could call UF's red zone plays in 07. Tebow roll left with a run/ pass option. if they were close in either jump pass or QB draw. TD.

Crowton will be gone after next season along with Miles.

My personal estimate which I pulled out of my arse puts this at 75% probability.

Not a Anti or Pro Crowton guy, but you realize that no matter what happens this year Crowton is in no win situation. If Jefferson progresses and the offense makes ANY progress it is all becaue Billy Gonzalez came to town. If the offense flounders, its all because of Crowton. I guess we forget that this year is really suppossed to be Lee's year to start (as he would sat for 2 years and been a Junior) and in 2 years as a Junior, Jefferson would be starting for the first time.

No it was during the NC run.

Part of the reasoning for his departure is that not only did he get passed over for Addazio for the OC job, Addazio took away those red zone duties as well.

DISCLAIMER: all of this is IMO...so don't think I'm pulling from websites or anything. This following post is strictly opinion.

I think you're all delusional if you think that they will pull the trigger on getting rid of Crowton this late in the game.

For one...signing day is in like a month. You don't fire a coordinator this close to signing day. Just puts the entire offensive class at risk IMO. Just seems like they would've canned him before the bowl game. We all knew Mallory and Peveto's fate before the Chick Fil-A last season. Don't see why they would change philosophies this year.

It'll be like the scene from "Stand By Me," a total barf-o-rama. Gumps so ill they would have to forfeit the game.

if we got a good one to replace him, somebody you could point to that has a history of doing things that fit the recruits' strengths, would it matter?

Well for one, it would probably help the class if anything A fair number of recruits have bitched about the offensive woes.

Another thing is that several big time programs still have vacancies: UF and UGA come to mind at their coordinator positions. And UF is probably gonna rack up a slew of 4 and 5 star guys this weekend just like they did last...

Finally, it would probably have greater effect if the coordinator was a big time recruiter but Crowton does next to nothing.

So...lets play hypotheticals and say that Crowton is canned.

Do we really think Les is willing to stick his neck out THAT far and promote Gonzales to OC? Les has to feel the noose tightening as is. And if he were to go with a new OC...I've got a feeling that he would try to go HUGE in an effort to save his arse.

I don't really have my finger on this program's pulse. But I agree that Gary Crowton isn't the answer. I just don't know who is...

By the by, if this is the case - Crowton gone, BG to OC... that would make sense why Les talked with Kragthorpe... he's a QB coach...

This would be the tits...

I just have a good feeling about BG.

Plus, this would make sense from a financial standpoint

This rumor was started by a poster on Tigerbait who claims he has a source that is very close with the program. He said that Crowton will be gone by the end of the week...

Hopefully they will give Gonzales full control of the offense.

I have also heard that BG had some clause in his contract at UF that would not allow him to take a lateral position within the SEC.... I dont know how factual that info is just what I have been hearing.

Why does everyone keep saying Gonzo to OC?
1.)He has no expereince as an OC.
2.)Didn't Miles learn about promoting upward with the whole Mallveto expereince.
3.)BP said he contacted Kragthorpe which means that Les would probably go with a bigger name at OC rather then looking for an unknown.

Where is all this coming from and why is everyone so excited to have an unproven coach at OC?

Well, Crowton is proven and we had the #112 ranked offense. There are only about 7 spots lower that we could go...

Because we can only go up. Its a win win for us. We can find a up and comer in BG and win more. Or, he doesn't pan out and we get rid of Miles quicker. You can't lose. Kragthorpe as OC would be the more likely scenario but his background isn't impressive at all...I'd rather take a chance on a young guy who has been under CUM forever.

If installed a similar system that Florida runs...I think it would be perfect for LSU's skill position players. We have as good skill position guys as anyone in the country...its the o-line/d-line/QB that is lacking right now. Attrition has killed our o-line.
