Could Aggie throw enough money to get Mike Norvell?

Turned the shitfrick Jimbo left in Tallahassee, into a potential powerhouse.

That is a name that would frighten me, as a non-Aggie fan...

ACC is an easier pathway

Norvel could be in the playoffs this year, so they would have to wait until January to announce

portal losses and recruiting losses could devastate TAMU roster by January

Novell is from Texas. A&M has vastly superior money and resources. Who knows

One of Jimbo’s biggest gripes about FSU was them not spending money on staff and facilities at the time. I know they have supposedly improved in those areas after losing him.

Another issue was the ACC, but everyone knows that FSU and a few others are leaving, so that won’t be a barrier much longer, either.

Yeah, A&M can pay a few more dollars, but he’s got a great shot at a playoff berth this year. Is he going to leave that setup where he’s the guy who brought back FSU for nothing but some more money?

Norvell is successful because he’s built a program with a lot of swagger. Dude had corn rows in college. His personality and the gay goofball boy-howdy milkman thing surrounding A&M’s program would be a disaster

In my opinion, other than Saban, BK, Kirby and Ryan Day, anything is on the table when you have a blank check.

Florida state has nowhere near the resources or money

They have always struggled to get things built and raise money for NIL. They are very unhappy in the ACC so who knows

IMO it wouldn’t be that big of a shock.

Aggie got that FSU connection already in place so there's that.

I don’t believe any of that. The guy left for a bigger paycheck and he cashed in.

its pretty well documented by their fans and reporters. Not a big secret FSU is far behind Florida in that area and NIL

The only, and I mean only, reason that Norvell might think for a second about leaving FSU to go to TAMU is $$$$$$$$. It's not even worth that.

must not be too far behind considering they’ve out-bided a lot of SEC programs and landed a bunch of star players from the portal.

Everyone understands this, but everyone also knows they are leaving. That move will bring the bigger TV deal with it. If you already have a program rolling and know this is just a matter of time, do you think short-term or long-term.

I guess we may find out how happy he really is there.

How much it was a part of his decision is unknown, but we absolutely know he was unhappy with the FSU administration for these reasons a couple of years before he left. The flirtation with LSU in 2015 didn’t just come out of left field. That was he and Sexton kicking them in the arse to get what he wanted. They doubled down, his situation there got worse with the divorce and a bad season, and the stage was set.

Jimbo may have left for the money, but there was a whole lot going on there, regardless. And I guarantee you the FSU admin was humbled by the mess that was left in the aftermath. They will give Norvell anything he asks for that they can possibly come up with.

It seems like most SEC schools are putting more money into high school recruiting than the portal. He and his staff have done a good job of targeting impact guys that they need and paying them more than others are offering. But that doesn’t mean they have as much or more to offer.

They pay more and they have better facilities i.e, invest way more into the program. I'd call recruiting territory a wash between Texas and Florida.

Jimbo used to complain about how cheap the AD at FSU is.
