ITS HAPPENINGGGGGG

Times Picayune ran the story this morning. They have historically been consistent on these matters as it relates to Info around LSU hires. they usually the ones that break LSU hard news in the past. They imo have better sources in the LSU athletic department than the Baton Rouge media guys. And they usually don't publish an article like this unless it has some serious legs. That's why LSU fans are jumping on this story. To answer your question, it had some legs last year, but the fans would had a coup against the Lsu brass if they pulled the trigger after the A&M game. The board wanted Jimbo last year and it hasn't changed. With aranda as the D,C., this deal makes it even easier for the BOS to move on.

There wasn't an opening last year, that combined with LA politics and public leaks kept this from happening.
Last year was derailed by politics not some fanbase uprising.

When did Dupre become a safety, by the way thanks Random!

I doubt it's Trickett, but could be another former LSU O line coach.

I just hope that O keeps the team motivated to win the next two and possible reach the sugar.....

No doubt losing a lot. But LSU has brought in top 5 classes as well and I've no doubt they will be just fine.

Yep. Why their decision was so swift after the A&M game. Alexander had one one expectation, a much improved offensive scheme. After the Wisky game, he was quoted as basically giving miles a vote of no confidence.

I have to think that at this point, Jimbo wants this job.
We were in negotiations with his agent last year until King came in and derailed everything.
We fired Les back in September, and here we are, 12 days before the end of the regular season, once again in negotiations with Jimbo.
If he didn't want the job, we would have known last November - and we wouldn't be sitting here a year later negotiating with him again. Alleva and the administration have had 2 months to get things worked out - there's no way we would be talking with Jimbo 12 days before the end of the regular season if we were still trying to convince him to come to BR.
To me, it sounds like the interest and desire to come back is there. At this point, it's about ironing out the details of the contract.

LSU will always be fine. That's just a shite ton of losses to overcome in one season and expect a national title.

It's all good I just had to give you a hard time about it.

Whenever the Jimbo inside info comes out, there's always a Bama fan or two who seems to trickle into the thread.

Yeah no shite. This was a good year for Les. But he pissed away so much talent which is why he is gone. Lsu is reloading.
