Is this a case of a guy screwing up a gauranteed date to the prom, but thinks he can pull anyone. He then finds out no one really wants him. So now he is trying to crawl back to the previous gauranteed date which is now no longer available.

I don't see the issue. If Miles wants to coach Michigan he will coach Michigan. If he doesn't he wont. You act like your coach was the only one that ever had rumors about him.

I do. And I informed the author of that, as well. And her employers. I intend to keep that article to provide to anyone contemplating a defamation suit against ESPN or its parent ABC as evidence of a pattern of behaviour.

UM asks what the issue is? I know UM has no experience with this, but LSU is preparing for the NC game, as well as being in the middle of recruiting. It is a little bit distracting when all the national media, following, by & large, the reports out of Detriot, nowhere else, keeps this crap on the front page. Recruits do listen to ESPN a bit.

I am staying at LSU and I have instructed Michigan that I am no a candidate for their job, they are not to contact me and their coaching search should not include me!

That is one of the dumbest things I've read on this board in the last 20 minutes (and that's saying a LOT).
If you honestly believe that anyone (including yourself) who is concerned over him leaving now would feel/act/talk any differently after a statement like that, you are fully deluded.
There would be stories galore tomorrow about how, "only a person who's hiding something would make such an outrageous statement," and people like you would go right back to saying, "where there's smoke, there's fire!" and "there must be SOMETHING to it or they wouldn't still be reporting on it."
By the end of the day, you'd be saying, "Only Les Miles can put an end to this speculation. He needs to come right out and say [insert even more absurdly mellodramatic denial here], or it means he's definitely going to Michigan!"
