Chris Petersen UCLA's top target

All the big money boosters are lining up for Petersen. AD may not have as much backing for anyone else.
No link, heard it on Petros and Money's local LA hour.
Sidenote: Chris Petersen is from the southern California area. He has a special needs son. His son's doctor just transferred from Boise to the UCLA medical center.

He is a scientologist I'm fairly certain, so he would fit right in LA. It is one of the few reasons he hasn't left Boise is my guess.

he hasn't left Boise b/c his kid has cancer and all of his doctors and friends are there.
I doubt he will leave Boise but if he does a West Coast school seems the most likely place he would head.

Apparently they plan to upgrade the practice facility and commit more money to assistants as well, so even if it's not Petersen, they seem to be trying to improve for the first time in a while.

I said a few reasons, which is more then one. And scientology isn't looked at favorably around the country and certainly not in the south. A school may not mind that he believes that, but it may be a factor in his decision, which would make a Southern Cal school a likely destination. But I believe he will not go to UCLA. Maybe USC, but that's not an option.

Guerrero is getting abolutely destroyed and is trying to save his job. When push comes to shove, I doubt this type of stuff goes through, especially given the message it would send with the UC system self-destructing

But the sources cited were UCLA boosters, not Guerrero. They may only get these things done if they get Petersen to come, but improvements and/or assistant salaries will have to be done with donations regardless. The UC system people will bitch, but if its privately funded with money they otherwise wouldn't get, how much can they really say?

This has been rumored for a few weeks. UCLA has never paid their football coaches well, but that might change with the new Pac-12 media deal. They'll have to fork out more money than they're used to to land him.
