Would be a great hire for Florida, unfortunately.

Kelly put up the last TD against second teamers late late in the game. LSU kicked his arse & it was not a toe to toe battle by any means.

LSU loaded with NFL talent beat Oregon, a team with mid level 3 star players... Congrats.

Wont be the same at UF with equal talent and you know it.

Who do you think put together that 3-star talent at Oregon?

Uh,it's Oregon, look at what it was when he got there.. Not anywhere near the draw it is now. Kelly built that place, but thats irrelevant now.

He should just wait for UCLA or one of the AZs.

Black and White crew in here. Yes the SEC generally has the top speed that other conferences offer while being bigger, but then again this conference isn't what it used to be. Alabama has stolen some souls the last decade. Kelly coached in the NFL. I think he realizes the importance of clock management against top competition and I could see him easily adapting to still have an explosive offense without compromising his D too much.

Chip had Nike recruiting for him at Oregon. Mac just proved beyond a shadow of a doubt recruiting at UF isn’t a given. What will be the excuse when he’s recruiting 3 stars at UF?

Isn’t that what he’s supposed to say?

Currently Mac had 2 top classes lined up before he was fired... Took awhile to gain footing, not like he was a big name who swooped into the state of Fl with his wang hanging out. takes time to form relationships with recruits when thats the case.

Chip already has recruits talking, pretty sure recruiting wont be an issue.

He would not survive in a defensive conference. He needs to PAC 12 where he can score 60-70 and give up 35 on defense. His offense puts a defense on the field way too long. Weak teams would put 30 up on Oregon.

how do people still think this

His best actual class, not some hypothetical class two years away, didn’t crack the top 10. This is a guy who presumably wanted to recruit.

So Chip Kelly, who is on record saying he hates recruiting, is going to do better than that?

Ok. Miami and FSU aren’t going anywhere. He’s not gonna have any layups in state. He’s going to have to beat Jimbo and Richt head to head recruiting to have “equal talent” to LSU. You really think he gets that done?

Considering the absurd amount of elite talent in the state of Florida, and the excitement of playing in his offense, I don’t see recruiting being a problem for Chip at UF. If he did it with lesser talent at Oregon, some of these 4 and 5 star guys will essentially fall into his lap, and he only needs a couple of them to play at a high level.

We're hearing its a done deal, theyre just waiting so the staff and players can focus on FSU this week before they announce him as HC.

That makes zero sense. Absolutely no reason to wait.

Florida will hire Taggert.

It is not just a matter of waiting, the deal is not yet finalized. Being the week of Thanksgiving, for it to get announced before Saturday it would probably have to be complete by Tuesday. Nearly everyone believes it is close, but no one is certain just how close to being done it is.
