It helped that he usually lined up 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage for most of those plays

Jesus, that's even worse than I thought it'd be. I was off by $150k for the total value.

Utterly retarded move by LSU. I am sorry. The one thing for sure is this likely keeps Les here through 2011. They won't fire him and have to let Chavis go at $1.4 Million if they struggled to let Crowton go for $900k on his own.

3 fricking years? Did our dumbass admins not learn shite from the crowton mess?

Looks like even a complete disaster next year won't get Les fired. Bravo idiots.

So Crowton and Chavis are in the top five of highest paid coordinators in the SEC. Chavis is getting paid as much as Kirby Smart, twice as much as Tyrone Nix and more than three times as much as Ellis Johnson. I think Crowton is the highest paid OC in the SEC. Some of those other guys might have received raised in the last couple of weeks, but still, frick.

This is what happens when you have to ridiculously overpay for an above average (not great) DC to compensate for Miles' lacking.

Really sad.

From that link, Let's hope that his contract still has an only 15% termination fee clause unlike Crowton's.

Why blame Alleva?

It's LSU Ath Dept having to insulate Les Miles weaknesses ad-nauseum, despite his Urban-esque and Saban-esque salary.

LM, despite earning 4M Elite HC pay, requires elite pay OC and DC, elite pay RB/Recruiting Coordinator, and his elite pay OC, needs a Passing Game/WR at hefty raise after being passed over twice for UF OC by his lifelong employer UM. And yes, BG is a nice very add for LSU.

Is it Alleva's and LSU's Ath-Dept fault that they must pacify their 4M HC, by hemming him in with experts? When Urban and Saban and Stoops earn their 4M, by being masters of at least one side of the ball, and having some slightly cheaper Coordinators and Assistants?

Or did 5XHC/AD, hire, then payraise, and ironclad LM's contract buyout, along with jettisoned NASA Beaureaucrat, and UMass/UF Joe.

I dont think the program could stand any more changes.

Let them coach for a couple of years.

Let's see what the 2011 recruiting class does.

My guess is that LSU wins a NC in 2013 or 2014.

lets wait for the class two years from now. They won't be allowed to play for two years despite a strong desire to want them to play and help us finish first in many games so that leaves us with giving Miles 4-5 more years to prove how shitty he can be.

I think this proves LSU is content with 4+ loss seasons.

We'll see how many of these recruits in this upcoming amazing recruiting class stick with Miles if he has another mediocre season. I'm betting a lot of these commits are getting their ear full of it right now from other recruiters.

They're committed now but pending a good season or not.

The defense played well most of the year. Fact is, our talent level with the exception of Nevis was down and the young guys were not YET strong enough to be a top DL in the SEC. How bout the job he did with with #77 getting him productive as a true freshman.

Played in 10 games...8 tackles, no sacks.
