No, I think there is enough talent that a good coach should be able to make these guys more productive.

I think Les taught Brick this one after they made out on the field when we one that one game. Any guy that can get $4 mill by not being wanted by his alma mater Michigan can teach this class.

i had a feeling that d-line would suffer greatly when kirston pittman retired a couple of years ago after a stellar 12+ years playing de for the tigers.

Fact is, our DL this year performed way better than last - as did our entire D. Fact is also, that Woods, Alexander, Pep, and Alem are not strong pass rushers. Give him through this year and let our other kids develop, and you'll see a top 10 Defense and D line.

what young d-linemen developed? Edwards played a modes amount, Aghayere and Downs played very little and everyone else redshirted. So next year the magic experience wand of Brick will turn them into a good defensive line?

Nothing on our d-line improved this year...what the hell games did you watch? I can't remember a year where our sack total from d-line was this low. It had to be before the Saban era and I don't even think it was that bad in the Dinardo era either...
The sad thing is, they weren't even that good against the run either. Bama and Florida blew them off the ball pretty hard. I didn't understand why Bama went away from Ingram in the first half when he was gashing LSU's defense for like 15+ yard runs. They definitely adjusted to that in the second half.

Alem damn near led the SEC in sacks last year, what was that, luck? the residual effects of Dunbar and Brumbaugh's teachings? teams sliding protection towards Tyson's fake rush/ drop into coverage?

I think he's definitely worth twice Kirby Smart's salary and nearly as much as Muschamp got as HCIW. Good to see we had to beat UGA by $100k just to keep him too, the shrewd negotiatons haven't stopped with Stanley's move to the fund raising side.
